i have not been to that mac but usually mac people do a nice job and the quality makeup is good. u would need to buy the products too.
definitely go for a practice first and make sure the girl/guy who does it is there on your day. they may be willing to even come to your house 'on the side' without their store 'knowing'

good luck

The one queens blvd is in the Queens Center Mall, they have an actual store and a counter in Macy's...I got my makeup done in Macys mac and they did a good job. I asked how much it is to do make up on the day of and they said $150...but I was thinking of privately speaking to the girl and see if she can do it independently for a cheaper price.

whats the diffrenece between the 'trial version' and the day of version? i called the store and they told me it was always free with a $50 dollar purchase...am i missing something?

Re: mac make up?

I thought it was $50 either way. $150 seems like alot of money for the MAC counter to do your makeup.

I am going with a girl who works for Bare Escentials in the Queens Center Mall, you may want to check them out as well. FM me if you want the girls name. :)

You don't have to buy anything it's a complimentary trial. My friend asked the girls at MAC. But IMO I would buy something little.

I got mine done at the Mac store at Roosevelt Field, and they did a really nice job, I ended up having a friend who is a makeup artist do it for my wedding day, but the girl at Mac did a very nice job. HTH

Re: mac make up?

u do have to buy a certain amount of makeup as an obligation, but that's the case with almost every makeup store/counter. DEFINETLY do a trial first, as certain styles aren't for everyone.

and hey, if u're up at Queens Center, i'm actually the lead artist at the Bare Escentuals Boutique if you wanna stop by 3item purchase for a full makeover

good luck with everything!

Re: mac make up?

I'm gonna have my makeup done by the guy who used to work at mac store in queens blvd. I was gonna have it done there but then I thought it's better to have someone come to me. He told me it was only $50 worth of product to get makeup done there but then when I asked if he could do it personally he said yes. He charged me $150. He is so good. His name is Ben but he doesn't work there anymore. Let me know if you want his contact number.

I love mac make up, but I feel like it doesn't stay on long very long. I'd be nervous to have it on all day, you know?
