MAC makeup trial

I was thinking of doing a trial with MAC at the mall. What do you think? Has anyone used them for bridal or any other makeup?

Re: MAC makeup trial

Maybe I will use someone from there to do my makeup then! I dont wear makeup at all, and I have no clue what I am doing. So this could be a good idea for me. I just hope they dont charge a lot!

Re: MAC makeup trial

Christy, if you go to a mac counter for a trial they want you to buy at least 4 products or pay 50 dollars. The makeup artists freelance so they can charge anything they want. Most of them charge 150 so they are pretty expensive. At least that was what I found out this past weekend when I went to the Mac counters in bloomingdales, the roosevelt field mall and at macys manhasset and nordstroms

Re: MAC makeup trial

Christy,

My best friend had her trial at a MAC counter and it looked amazing. However, the girl she had made an appt. with NEVER showed up on her wedding day! My friend was devastated and had to resort to going to the mall on the morning of her wedding so someone else at the counter could do her makeup. The woman that ended up doing her makeup told her that this has happened before because 'wedding makeup is not their primary job, so it isn't what they rely on to make a living.' Also, you do not sign a contract when you hire someone from a counter to do your makeup so, there could be no consequences if they choose not to show up. Just be careful!

Re: MAC makeup trial

I personally am not a MAC user. I used to be, but the product seems a little heavy to me - only IMO!!!

I felt like I needed something a little lighter since I wear no makeup on a regular basis...seems to be the general consensus around here that none of us wear a lot of makeup! HEY! Aren't we supposed to be from 'Long Island'? Tons of makeup and big hair?!? We are destroying that stereotype!!!

But go for the trial - everybody I see getting their faces done there look great!
