Do you all use Mac or Windows? I am a Windows user on the verge of making the big switch to Mac....just curious on people's opinions of their computers.

I have windows....and it's horrible. There are WAY too many errors all the time.

I use a Mac at work & at home.. i LOVE it... I recommend Mac for anyone.. (and I am very well versed in both operating platforms.)

I use a windows machine at work but I use Macs at home. I much prefer Macs--they're considerably more user friendly. Good luck with your switch!!

I have both, but I always use the Mac. I think it's definitley more user-friendly, but it's more difficult to find Mac compatible software.

ive used windows my whole life .. but just now ive been using a mac for one of my classes. its different .. but definitely something i might think of switching to ... one day

I've had both, but now am exclusively on Macs at work and home. I have an iMac at home and a G4 at work. I only wish I could afford the big flatscreen monitor!
Plus, you can get Virtual PC to run windows files on your Mac. It's an inexpensive program that when started runs just like Windows but on your Mac.
You can find most major software programs you'd need for your Mac via specialty Mac catalogs or online, but there are still some PC only ones and there aren't as many games for Macs as there are for PCs.
I even got my 70-year-old dad using my old iMac and he is now online more than I am and he had never touched a computer before last year.

Windows definitely has its problems...but Microsoft has such a monopoly on the industry that everything is made for PCs....
DH is a UNIX administrator and while he would love to use LINUX and UNIX all day...he knows its impossible...and needs windows...

FH and I have a PC and a Mac. We like the Mac so much more. He works off a Mac at home and at work, I use a Mac at work and I am stuck on this PC and home (can't afford a new computer right now). The Mac is so much nicer, espeically OS X!

For the Mac users: do you have problems with freezing up a lot? I have a brand new top of the line Dell, and it is horrible. Windows freezes up all the time and I get tons of error messages. For those who have used both, was it hard to switch?

In my experience, there is a market for the Mac, and a market for Windows. I agree w/Yabbobay that Microsoft has such a monopoly on the PC market....my brother is also a net administrator, and he would LOVE to use LINUX all the time! LOL!
But, Macs still have their place - they are preferred by people who work in graphic design, advertising, b/c they are more user friendly for those applications. Windows is better for office applications like Word, Powerpoint, Excel.

My co-worker keeps telling me to move to Linux. I hate windows... i've never used Mac.

I use both. For design purposes, marketing and printing and production def MACS!! I can't stand it when I get disks from non-MAC users. It makes our department a living hell to deal with formatting their fonts, layout.... But at home I have a PC. Its ok I guess.
