Macy's Bridal Salon

Has anyone been to Macy's bridal salon in the Smithhaven Mall? Is it good? Who do you recommend making an appt. with? Do they have a good selection?

Macy`s Bridal Salon

I went to the Macy's salon in Manhasset. The saleswoman I had was not knowledgable about gowns at all. As far as selection, they had a lot of Demetrios gowns and some Moonlight. I tried on a couple of Scaasi gowns here.

I bought my dress at Smithhaven's Flowerama bridal salon. I really didnt' have any problems with them. They had a dress that I had a picture of. It was a Demetrios Gown. I met with Doreen I believe was her name. She really tells you how it is -- which can be really helpful sometimes. She'll help you find something flattering for you. My dress did take about 9 months so it's best to look there early. They charge a $150 flat fee for alterations and I think $50 for bustle. That was in 2000.

I also had Doreen help me. She was absolutely wonderful. I had such great experiences with them. Their headpieces are pricey, but I fell in love with one, and she gave me 40% off, so I couldnt resist. I know they give you 10% off if you get BM dresses, but they still were pricey on them. Like I said, ask for Doreen to help you!!! Good Luck. Try to go during the week.Less crowded.

Macy`s Bridal Salon

I actually went to both Macy`s Bridal salons on Long Island. I felt I got better service at the one in SmithHaven Mall than the one in Manhasset. Doreen helped me as well. I went back after I order the dress to show my sister and they let me try it on without an appointment. The service was excellent compared to many of the other places I went. At Smith Haven they all were very knowlegdage and friendly and they did not push for the sale. I am very picky and was looking for a specific style of dress. I told them my budget and exactly what I was looking for. They never showed me anything above my budget. You also get to look through the racks and choose what you want to try on. They know what looks good and they are honest with you, which was nice as well, so if a dress really is not flattering they will let you know. I also did not get my veil and head piece from them. I recommend that you make an appointment during the week.

I went to smithhaven also and ordered my dress there. I was and still am very pleased with the service and selection they have. I used Peggy, who was incredible knowledgeable, helpful and patient. I would definately recommend her and Macy's. Good Luck!

Macy`s Bridal Salon

I did not have a very good experience at the Smithaven Mall Macys Bridal Salon. I visited several times and each time was during the week with an appointment. During each appointment, I did not have anyone to help me. The person I made the appointment with was always helping at least one other bride. Whenever I needed assistance to take a dress off or zip one up there was no one around. They were also very, very expensive. I ended up purchasing a dress I tried on there from Burton's in Huntington for $300 less plus they threw a headpiece in for free. I also found Macys alterations to be way overpriced (especially if you fit into a size pretty well). Just my opinion -
