I have an appointment tonight to try on my dress again! Here's my dilemma with it - every single frickin store has it in ivory. I want to order it in white but I'm nervous since no one has it in that color. Does that mean it's really meant to be ivory? The woman at Macy's told me she can show me a similar Demetrios dress in white so I can get an idea. I don't know what to do?!?!

I think you should try the other one out but I say go with your gut feeling did you try everywhere to see it in white?

I would try on the similiar one in white...at least then you can get an idea.

if you tried it on in ivory and liked the way it looked on you, i would go with the ivory because dresses can look totally different in another color

I'd be careful going to Macy's in Manhasset. My friend got her dress there and we ordered our bridesmaid dresses there and had A LOT of problems.
This is just imo and experience.

I don't think we're going to order from there but I wanted to go because the girl told me on the phone that she would show me a similar dress in white. Which she did, she was really helpful but I'm still torn. She showed me a very similar dress in white and it was really beautiful but I'm so nervous that it'll make a big difference in white rather than ivory. Ugh what to do, what to do!!!

Someone told me that stores don't really stock the whites nowadays because they oxidize quickly and ivory maintains their colors better; that's probably why you can't find it in white. If you can't find the dress, then try on the same manufacturer's dress in white just to look at your skin tone with it.
