Did anyone order their dresses from there? I have an appointment on Friday and was just wondering how much deposit I will have to leave on my gown if I find one?

i bought the dress i tired on there - but not at macys - they were more $$$ - their selctioncan'tbe beat but theni saved nearly 700 dollars by going with a smaller bridal shop by my house!

I found the dress I wanted at Macy's but ordered it elsewhere. I saved over $500. But in regards to your question most places ask for 50% of the dress cost as a deposit. Good Luck!!!

My dress is from a confined line and so unfortunately, Macy's is one of only 3 places in NY that I can get my dress. The other 2 places are not so convenient (one is in Brooklyn and the other is all the way upstate). I guess I will just call them to ask what they normally require as a deposit.

Did anyone see if they had plus sized samples to try on?
I have to say I was totally impressed that RK Bridal had alot of samples that were plus sized. I was really nervous that there would not be any samples over size 12 and I'd never be able to get them over my hips But there was and I found two contenders there, but still looking since some dresses I saw in mags that I like were not at RK to try on.

I ordered my dress at Macy's bridal in Tyson's Corner, Virginia and my sister got her's at Macy's bridal in the Smithaven Mall. She had a good experience with them and I'm having a good experience so far with the one in VA. They did require 50% deposit on the dress.

I ordered my dress from MACY'S in Smith Haven Mall. They were sooooooooo great to work with so far. I am waiting to hear when it comes in--they said July but so far nothing.....but i have so much time it doesn't matter! I would highly recommend them- I heard great things about the one in Manhasset also--which one are you going to? good luck!

I'm getting my dress from Macy's. When I told them that I had found it for $400 less at another store, they not only matched the price, THEY WENT LOWER!! Talk to them....

I found my dress in Macy's in Manhasset and they were wonderful. But I ordered it elsewhere b/c I found it and others I tried on there a lot cheaper elsewhere. Who's the designer of the dress you like?

I had a similar experience with finding the dresses cheaper elsewhere! Don't get me wrong though-The selection was great.

I am most likely getting my dress at the macy's in manhassett. i had found the dress elsewhere lower but macy's alterartions were lower. i told them that and they matched the price for me within $50.00. I have been there twice now and have had nothing but a great experience. GOOD LUCK!

I'm using the macy's in manhasset. Like someone else said, their alterations are very reasonable. I know they charge a flat fee, no matter how much work you have to have done!

Firegal, I've found that just because a salon doesn't carry the dress of your choice, they can still order it from the manufacturer. The dress I love is only 'locally' carried in NYC or Far Rockaway. Burton's in Huntington said they could order it for me and quoted me $100 less. Call around.
