So, 4 out of 5 of my bridesmaid's dresses came in WEEKS ago. One has gone 'missing'. They claimed because of the holiday (4th of July) maybe the shipments got out of whack. It was stated for a July 2nd delivery. They said they'd call when it came in or call them within the week.
Well... as you know a FEW weeks and a half have gone by since then and I called today. I was put on hold for about 15 minutes I hung up and called again. The dress has not come in!
They put me on hold for another 10 minutes saying that they were on the phone with the manufacturer. They came back on the line and said that they were on hold and they would call me back as soon as they heard.
That was at 3 pm this afternoon and I haven't heard a thing!!!
I am SO annoyed with them right now!!
Where's my BM's dress!!??!?

which macys was this... from what i heard (from someone who use to work there), the a lot of things go 'missing' at the macys at 34th st from the recieveing docks to the sales floor....

It is the one in the Smithaven Mall.
What I'm upset about is that they didn't even have the decency to call me back with an answer either way!

Hmmm, interesting. The same thing happened to us. One of my bridesmaids didn't get her dress until the end of January (roughly a month before the wedding) and it was supposed to be in at the beginning of December, same thing, blamed it on Christmas, etc.
It did show up and I fed exed it to Baltimore where she lives and she got the alterations done on her own.

Oh God, that's where I got all of my dresses....now I'm nervous! And I felt very uneasy when we went to purchase the dresses......good luck with it, and FM me when you get this resolved and let me know how they handled it!

That stinks! Make sure you keep harassing them about the dress. One of my BM's is also getting married and she ordered her veil from Macy's- they ordered the wrong one and didn't even apologize and wouldn't get her a new one in time for the wedding. Their customer service stinks!

Oh no!! I'm sorry that happened. I got all my dresses from there and they all came in on time. Hopefully they call you back tomorrow Which designer were they? Maybe it has something to do with the company they were ordered from??
You need to go down there in person to speak with a manager.

No matter how mad they make you. Because what's going to happen is that you are going to say to the manager, 'I feel that as a customer I have been treated inappropriately. I was lied to by your staff. They said they would call me back to give me an update and no one ever did. Please don't placate me. I'm not a child. And on top of this whole fiasco I am being inconvienienced by having to take time out of my busy day to come down here. My time is just as valuable as your time. I can be doing other more productive things. So at this juncture I would like to know exactly how you plan to compensate me for your incompetence?'

three years ago when my older sister was married, we all got our BP dresses through them. And let me say the service was horrible and the ladies made me feel so low because I weighed 60 heavier then the other girls in the BP. They told me I should lose weigh because the gown can't be taken out. I had to order more material and it cost me so much and they only used less than a yard of it. I was livid by the amount I spent on the whole dress.
Well when my twin got married I lost 50 pounds and told her we are never go back to macys because of the way they treated me. My older sister response was, 'That was your problem you didn't lose the weight'
Sorry your dress hasn't come in, I would keep on calling them.
Sorry I needed to vent.

I did my registry at Macy's and they lost it too, I spent 3 hours scanning items and planning and coordinating items for my registry and went to pull it up online and could never get it to pull up, i finally called customer service and they said the system must have dumped my registry....I was livid...so I guess they are just all around incompetent......

I had issues with my BM dresses as well. I was told they were ordered and then 2 weeks later someone called and told me that they had tried contacting me like 3 times to tell me that the dresses needed to be ordered and that I would have to pay an extra 40 bucks to get them here on time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DON'T THINK SO!!!!

I'm so sorry for what you are going through. It is unnecessary stress that they are putting on you and you should be compensated in some way. Don't back down! I ordered my gown from there, everything was fine, but I am getting it altered somewhere else.

They spoke with the manufacturer and they said it was taking longer to make that particular dress and it will be shipped out next week and they're overnighting it so....
Keep your fingers crossed!! Let's hope they mean what they say!
(I spoke to a VERY sweet lady this time and she apologozed profusely for not calling back yesterday)

I'm glad everything worked out! Hopefully it gets here ASAP.
I got all my dresses from Macy's - BMs and my own - and I haven't had any problems at all. In fact the dresses all came in really fast. And the ladies I've dealt with so far have been wonderful.
