Macy's Demetrios Manhasset

Hi, I was wondering whether anyone has been here recently? I have an appointment for March 8th and I can hardly wait, unfortunately though, they don't have the gowns I REALLY want to try on yet (they are from the 2012 collections). I'm sure it will be fine though because Demetrios has GORGEOUS pieces to offer.

My burning question is, do they have 10 12 and 14 sizes as samples to try on in a great quantity or is it very limited? Thank you!

I haven't been to the Manhasset location, but did purchase my dress from the Lake Grove location. Most of the sample dresses that I tried on were size 12. I actually think that they do not carry many dresses in smaller sizes as samples, because I ended up ordering an 8 and they never showed me anything in that size.

Also, I know the Lake Grove location received new dresses in Nov/Dec, and I would assume those were from the 2012 line so you may want to call that location to see if they have the dresses you are interested in.

I went to the Macy's Manhasset location last summer and had a good experience. The sales people were great and not pushy (unlike the Herald Sq. location). I wear a street size 14/16 and I was able to get into all the samples I tried on.

I went to Macy's Lake Grove two weeks ago while they were having their trunk show, which had all of the 2012 dresses. My dress is actually from their new collection too. You should check Demetrios' website. That's how I found out about it! I actually got a 15% discount bc I purchased during a trunk show. They really have beautiful stuff! And I never tried on a dress that was smaller than a 10...they were mostly 12-14's. Good Luck

Oh wow thank you for the replies! They help a lot and I'm very excited to go now. Manhasset was having a trunk show this past weekend for Demetrios...I completely missed it so now I'll have to be creative if I want to try the particular dress on that I want. Its the new style #525. So gorgeous!

I got my dress from there. I'm a big girl, and was able to get into all of the samples (even if they didn't close).

Also - even if it's not a trunk show, they should be able to offer you a discounted price. If not, find a dress you like, and ask them when the next trunk show is so you can come back and get it.

Ask for Alcira. She was such a sweetheart and spent several hours pulling dresses for me.

I just bought my dress at Macy's in Manhasset this past weekend. They were awesome! I went to Smithhaven Mall and Herald square Macy's and all were good. You can certainly try on a size 12, most of the gowns will be in that range from the trunk show. Call ahead to make sure they have your dress, I believe that dress s part of the show. I saw it, it was beautiful!!

The trunk show is coming back to Manhasset on Mar 30 - Apr 1... if you buy it then, you will get 15% off your dress which can be quite substantial. Call ahead and ask. I highly recommend this collection and this store - it was better than the service at Klienfelds!

I am so excited! I REALLY want to try on that dress! Do they allow you? And is it very hectic during trunk shows? I hope it isn't VERY expensive....

It was not hectic during the trunk show. I made an appt and it was not problem. These Macy salons are high end and with excellent service. It looks like your dress is are part of the new collection, mine was too! That's why I had to travel and follow the dress from store to store to try it on again.

If your dress is part of the show, the dress will move along with the trunk show - it will be the only weekend you can try it on in the store.

I love the entire collection.

I think that the Lake Grove location is actually having a trunk show this weekend. One of their consultants called to leave me a message.... I already ordered my dress though, so am a bit confused - unless, bridesmaids dresses count for the trunk show??

I also bought my dress from Macy's Manhasset. I had trouble going to all the bridal boutiques bc of sizing but felt comfortable here. The workers are fantastic and really help you out. I got my dress after a trunk sale and still got the 15% off. Then my girls got their bridesmaid dresses there as well and also got the 15% off. Highly recommend it here!
