I got my dress! Its from Demetrios. I went to bridal reflections in massapequa and the bridal salon in manhasset and macys to look at dresses and really liked one in BR but wanted to check macy's again ... good thing becuase i found THE dress there. It was just staring at me when I came in and said 'try me on I know youll love me' I probably should have gone to more places but i didn't really see the point. I would just confuse myself.
My sales girl was a little pushy but being in sales myself i knew it was her job. My wedding is a year away so I am not afraid of the dress not coming in on time but I was just wondering how their seamstresses were?
ANyone have experiences there? Anything I should look out for? I didn't think to check reviews for the place itself but i figured if I love the dress then worst case senario once it comes in I can take it somewhere else.

My mom is getting her dress from there, I like them...I haven't heard anything bad about them...What dress did you get, I am also getting Demetrios!!

Its a princess collection. I didn't realize that other salons carry demetrios. Oh well. My mom wanted me in this big poofie thing (which is so not me!) but this one was the perfect mix of sophistication and the glitz and glam that my mom wanted to see me in. It is a motified A-line so it isn't straight but isn't poofie either (it kinda starts to go out at the top of the hips rather then the waist but in No way 'mermaid like'). I love it!

Stunning! I just worry sometimes because the saleswomen took forever with my bridal party and seemed really unsure of themselves, but so far so good! My dress and their dresses came in, and no problems yet!

Congrats on finding the dress!! That's so exciting. I haven't heard anything bad about macys. Just know what you want your dress to look like on you and tell them. That's what I'm planning on doing when I have my fittings at my salon.

I know its retarded. I feel like I should rent that chair so I could get the 'whole look'. I wish they had a back view too becuase it is so detailed.

I also bought my gown at Macy's in Lake Grove. I took it home last year b/c my wedding got postponed until this year. I plan on taking my dress to a private seamstress b/c I know alterations at a shop can cost almost as much as the dress itself!

Heres my demetrios dress, it is also a princess collection.
My Demetrios (pics in profile) hasn't come in yet, but I have had a fairly good experience with Macy's thus far. I know there have been a lot of mixed reviews with them.

ALL your dresses are so pretty. When I go for my first fitting I think I will try to take a picture. Or just go back and take one. If they let me.

I love demetrios. I started dress shopping there, but I didn't like how pushy the sales person was, and how they lead us to believe they are the only store that carries the demetrios line. They pressured us into putting a deposit, which we later desputed

My dress is Demetrios too! I ordered mine from Gownfind. They had great prices and phylis is very helpful. You might want to check them out if you didn't order your dress yet
