FH and I registered about two weeks ago, and every once in a while I check the registry to update and stuff. Has anyone noticed that the prices change constantly and drastically? Not just when things are on sale and not on sale, but the prices jump randomly. We registered for a cast iron skillet that was $24.99, not on sale, and now that skillet is $54.99. A teapot that was $39.99 is now $49.99. These are not sale prices, they are regular prices that just keep moving around. What is going on?? Has anyone else noticed this?

i havent noticed that but i do notice that a lot of things i registered for at macys are 50-100 dollars cheaper at BBB!

Macys has sales every other week... it is good but ridiculous. I learned from our registry that NO ONE eleve buys anything from Macys full price - they wait until the sale days. My luck - this was news to me because I never realized that... it is what the registry people at Macys shared with me. HTH

And Macys has that registry rewards thing where you get a gift card back after your wedding date (I think) with a percentage back on things you buy on your macys card and things others buy if they say you are registered there. I only have a few things there, but I figured it's worth it to get the money back on stuff I buy there.

In Macy's the price does jump around alot but I think it is so that their sale prices can seem like they are so high. When I received double items from my registry and went to exchange them I realized that practically everything was purchased on sale. I think they raise the prices so that the sales look so much higher then other stores and people can buy from them.

yes, and it drove me crazy.
i was so afraid someone would decide they wanted to get us an $100 gift and buy a registry item listed as $100 when it's usually $39.99.
I put as much as possible on my other registries and just hoped for the best with Macy's.
The worst was our down comforter... when I registered for it the price was $299.99 but every other week it would switch to $575. That is a HUGE difference! Eventually I took it off and switched to a similar one at BBB (I preferred the one at Macy's but thought it would be easier for everyone) and then took it off altogether.
I wish their prices wouldn't fluctuate like that. I wrote to customer service but they said there was nothing they could do.
