Made chocolate seashells for E-Party cake!!!

I'm having a beach-theme engagement party and FMIL and I experimented with making our own chocolate seashells to decorate the cake. We had seen them on line for $30 a bag! All we did was melt white chocolate and peach-color choclate and mixed them in seasshell molds. Then we brushed a pearl powder (edible) to make them irridescent like real seashells. They came out beautiful (and tasted good)!!

The Chocolate Duck in Farmingdale. I think they have a website.
FYI: They have a lot of wedding/shower favors all made of chocolate!

Re: Made chocolate seashells for E-Party cake!!!

It took just a little practice but we just etched in the peach with a toothpick to make it look like the white and peach shells you find on the beach. It was a fun and stress-free time!

Re: Made chocolate seashells for E-Party cake!!!

Future Mrs. L, Did you ever make your chocalate sea shells for your engagement party? If so, could you post pictures. I went to the chocolate duck and my mom wants to do that for our shower. What I am doing is putting the two shells together Slightly open with light brown sugar inside (resemble the sand) and I bought miniture molds for sea shells to be placed inside of the bigger shell. I am using dark chocolate, milk chocalate, white chocolate, and peanut butter chocolate. Do you or anyone else have pictures to post?
