I have been pricing dresses and have been told numerous times that Maggie Sottero gowns are price fixed so they cannot lower them... is this true?
Not sure about that. I bought a Maggie a few weeks back and the dress was listed at the same price that I was finding on other websites however, the shop was running a special and gave $150 off. It's definitely worth looking into if you're in love with Maggie's. I would also check the newspapers, you might come across the occasional coupon for some of the bridal salons. Good luck!
Check out the Maggie trunk shows. I got about 10-15% off my dress that way. You can check out the places having them on the Maggie website I think.
When I bought my Maggie, I also bought a separate belt to go with it. The consultant told me since I bought both together, she could work on lowering the price, and dropped it by a few hundred. Don't know if the actual discount was technically taken off the belt or the dress though.
since maggies dresses are already priced pretty reasonable, i wouldnt be surprised if it was true. i tried my dress on at 2 different stores, a smaller shop in brooklyn and kleinfelds - both same price. i coulda waited for a trunk show, but didnt want to.

I got quoted a $250 discount on a Maggie I was looking at.
Maggie has a policy and gives them a set price and tells them they can not charge less than what they say or they will pull their authorization to sell their designs but some places lower the prices anyway

I tried on my Maggie at 3 different salons and they were all the same price. I wouldn't be surprised either.
paradise bridal this past weekend had 20% off all dresses and sometimes village bridal has a $250 off coupon in the paper
I bought a maggie dress as well and was told the same thing that maggie dress are priced low and she does not allow her dresses discounted so they gave me a discount on my veil and taria and gave me a free shawl to make up for it. I didnt want to wait for a trunk sale. I love my maggie dress
I bought my Maggie dress at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa and we were able to talk them down $300 on the dress. Plus since I bought the matching maggie veil, I got 10% off the veil.
