Yes and no. I haven't asked for much from my MOH's, but they're very excited to help.

My one (oldest) sister bought us the cake for our e-party. My other (middle) sister asked the night before if I needed anything last minute, but I didn't.

My oldest sister has been hounding me about going gown shopping, and called my mother the other day saying that she's getting anxious and they need to start planning my shower already

I told both sisters that I want to go gown shopping on the 26th, and they're both coming. So far that's it. FH and I have done everything else (bookings and whatnot), but I also haven't asked for any help.

No - but then again she is pregnant (and due in 2 weeks!) with baby #1 and lives in CA. I gave her a pass on helping She feels horrible about it - but, I told her her daughter should be her #1 priority right now. FSIL, another BM and the Moms (my Mom and FMIL) will be my go-to people instead.

They is not much for her to do yet and she is my sister and thrilled to do what ever, she is also i know planning my shower and bach. party and has 2 young kids so im not really asking her to do anything.

Re: Maid of Honor

I have 2 MOH's. My Matron of Honor is getting married in September so she's focused on her own wedding, which is understandable. Whatever questions I have, she has an answer for it since her planning is 95% done.

And my other Maid of Honor has been helpful, she's crazy about my wedding plans; sometimes a little crazy. But I love that she's so helpful, unlike my other cousin who's a BM.

Re: Maid of Honor

The reason I asked is because I love my MOH but she really isnt helping me much. I keep making excuses for her because she's married, in school, has fultime job and a 1yr old but I still think that she could help me a little bit. She cancels every appointment the we make, she wasn't even there to help me pick my dress or the hall or anything. I feel like I'm my own MOH. I am going to talk to her about it but I feel guilty doing so because I know she has a lot going on. I just really wish that she could make a little more time because she knows that I don't have my family or anyone else to help. We have the same work schedules and I have equal responsibility and I get it all done....I want her in my wedding because she means a lot to me but may the job of my MOH is not for her.

My sister is my MOH... She has been looking for BM dresses and helping mom out with shower ideas. I like to do all the big stuff on my own.

Her and I have already talked dresses extensively...and she is totally willing to help whenever I need it...she's been through it before and knows what it is to be a bride planning your wedding and (along with the fact that I love her and want in as my MOH) that's why I chose her...I know she won't let me down!

I haven't had much help - but I haven't ask. I don't see what they are supposed to help you with?? It's my wedding not theirs...

Re: Maid of Honor

Well I haven't asked my MOH yet. Am asking her this weekend, but for me I'm a do it yourself type of person so I don't think I'll be asking for really anything, maybe some small things close to the wedding date. Is she supposed to have certain duties?

Re: Maid of Honor

I am too Type-A to have anyone help with too much. I need to be in control at alll times. That being said, if you are asking her for help, and she is not able to, or worse, she says she will and cancels, you should say something to her. The sooner the better, you dont want it to build up, because it will explode one day. Do you have anyone else to help you where you need it? Other BMs?

My sister has been great. She lives in Maryland so obvious she isn't at ever vndor meeting. She looked at gowns with me, she was there when looking at BM/MOH dresses. She is always keeping in touch with me about every detail even though she can't be here. I can't be happier with her level of involvement. (unless she lived here of course)

My sister is my MOH, i've had lots of help from her. She has gone to every vendor with me. She did just about everything for my eparty-all the cp's, the favors, and cute little facts around the room. She does whatever I ask.

Re: Maid of Honor

I havent officially asked my MOH yet, I am waiting until she moves back home from AZ before I ask her (we have been best friends since 7th grade...I figure asking in person rather than on the phone/through mail might be a bit better...) I have never mentioned to her about being in the bridal party and she is the one who is thinking about my wedding the most...She is emailing me links to dresses, cake designs, etc...She really makes me laugh, i love it!!
