Re: Maid of Honor

I gave my MOH a list of duties. I printed it out from theknot.com - She actually asked me for it. She's a huge help!

Re: Maid of Honor

That all depends on what you consider help. My MOH/SIS is basically the one keeping me mild tempered but she doesn't do any planning or what not, maybe just the ideas for the shower. I didn't expect much from my MOH. She is just the one who keeps my mom in check and makes me laugh about stupid crap. Closer to the wedding will be when I guess she gets a little more involved. Right now, she is my laugh line.

I haven't asked her for any help yet, but I know she will do anything I ask!! My MOH is my sister and when she got married I was the BEST MOH ever, so she better return the favor!!!

I don't really need her to do much..all I want is for her to do what she says she's going to do. I know she doesn't have the time that I have and that my wedding is not her priority but......don't have me thinking that you are going to help and then just leave me hanging

Re: Maid of Honor

I was just thinking about this today!!!

Yes and No. My sister in law is one of my MOH and she has come up with ideas and suggestions for me (even before i asked her to be MOH) but she hasnt really offered to help with anything in terms of chores, duties etc. Then again I havent asked her for anything bc I too am a type A personality. Also she I would rather do things i.e. dress shopping etc with my mom since I am the only daughter and I know it makes her happy to be involved.

My FSIL is my other MOH-- she has a newborn and is generally not into all of the wedding hype so she has not been involved at all.

I just hope that at least when it comes to the shower and Bach party (i want something very low key but would still like something) my SIL gets involved and plans things-- as I did when i was her MOH. My mom however seems to be spearheading things on the shower end from what i hear..

Truth is that I didnt have a bridal party with BM's because I knew that although my friends have each in their way asked me if i needed help or been there for me at one point or another even without being in the wedding party.-- they would all be busy and self involved and wouldnt really get overly involved with wedding planning even if they were in the wedding party. Not to mention being that they are all in their 30's and single-- I dont think they are generally in 'great place' to be excited about my wedding.
Considering both of those factors, I figured as my i would save them the obligation of helping plan and spend money on buying dresses etc... but I still secrertly hope that they get involved with shower/bachelorette stuff anyway-- bc they are my close friends. I had a brunch after i got engaged when i invited them over and explained to them that i was not having a bridal party but i wanted them to be involved every step of the way since they were my closest girls.

They is not much for her to do yet and she is my sister and thrilled to do what ever, she is also i know planning my shower and bach. party and has 2 young kids so im not really asking her to do anything.

Same here. Mine is my sis also and is busy with two kids. When I need her, she'll be there but right now there's nothing really do to.

My MOH is my SIL and she is so helpful in everyway. She has offered to help with DIY projects, excited to go dress shopping with me tomorrow, and listens to my all my rants and raves. Gives her opinions when asked and keeps quiet when she isnt asked, she will just listen. She is wonderful!! So glad she is my MOH and even happier that she married my brother!!

I'm having 2 MOHs. I haven't really asked much of them yet. I know they'd be more than willing to do whatever. But they both live about 2 hours away...in opposite directions. So, it's hard to always have them around. Sometimes I get bummed out that I can't just pick them up and go do wedding stuff on a whim. But I know when the time comes they'll be there for me.

My MOH has been awesome!! She is in IT and is therefore making me fancy $3 a piece STDS for a tenth of the price..she also got me really cute tiffany blue confetti, a wedding planner, and little tiffany blue sticky stones to put on my DIY menus..she has also done awesome research for me

Re: Maid of Honor

I have gotten a lot of help picking things out from my MOH and my BM's in general. I often email them or call them with 'what should I do?' or 'What do you like better?' and I always get responses. They all came dress shopping with me and currently they also always check in on me lately knowing that I am having major issues with my ex-MOH (sister) but I haven't asked for any physical help yet in regards to putting things together or such...

My moh is my sister. She's done so much for me thus far. I love her for that, I know that when she gets married I gotta be there for her ten times over. Who is your MOH?

Re: Maid of Honor

my moh has been amazing. Helping me with ideas. She was great at my e-party helping with everything. Driving people without licenses etc. I know she has already started planning my shower with my mom. So all together great...but I knew she would cuz that is just the way she is

My MOH is a very good friend of mine, I'm not that close with my sister that is close to my age and my other sisters are too young.

I havent asked for any help. I dont really need it. But MOH is my sister and am sure she will come dress shopping with me and help with my invitation stuffing -- all the things I helped her with -- which wasnt much
