Maid of Honor Drama

Maid of Honor Drama

Do you really need one or just have a few bridesdmaids? I only ask cause normally you have your best friend be your MOH, but I don't have a best friend. My sister seems to be the default choice in the matter, but I don't want her as MOH. She thinks the relationship my FH & I have is a joke (she actually had said 'you don't have a relationship, you have a relationSHIT'.
She doesn't like my fiance. They don't get along. Maybe she's just jealous cause she's been with a guy for 3 1/2 years with no rock and my FH proposed after 1 year.

In that case I would not have one at all. I have 3 MOH's cause I couldnt just choose 1 sister... I love them all. You can do whatever you want!! Its your day!!!

Good luck!!!!

I have a strange situtation like that too. I have three sisters and my older sister didn't talk to my family for years. I would normally have picked her since the two oldest would be each others and the two youngest would pick one another. But when she stopped talking to us, I then assumed it would always be my younger sister. Now I am engaged and she is back in my life. I feel like it would look like I am holding a grudge if I don't pick her but I feel like it would be a slap in my face to my younger sister if I did pick the older one. There is more to the story but thats the gist. Anyway, long story short, I am either picking a friend (which would then insult all of my sisters) or just not pick a MOH. But honestly, everyone in my life is important to me so its hard to say one is the most important anyway. So I say, you don't need one.

I've already told her she doesn't have to be there but I am still inviting her because she is family. I don't think it'd look good on my end (despite what she's sadi) if I didn't extend the invite.

If she turns it down, then it's on her.

'I agree 100%. You invite her let her make the decision. It does sound like she might be jealous. If I was in her position I might be jealous too. My younger sister BF was talking about marrying her after 6 months and my now FH and I were going out 2 years and hadn't talked about it. I was pretty upset. But it all worked out

Good luck!!

Have you thought of making them all MOH's?? Thats what I did... It made everyone happy and it didnt leave anyone out. I am soo happy I made that decision. I am closer with my younger sister but the one closest in age to me would have been heartbroken... so I avoided it all... and am having 3 MOHs and 2 BMs. Its all good!!!!

Thanks! My mom thinks I should pick my sister regardless.... yes she knows what she's said and done.
But how can I leave such an important job to someone who thinks of my relationship in the way she does? She's not the most responsible person either....

I might just have 3 BM's (Which consist of 2 friends and groom'ssister) and no MOH.

Sounds like a good idea. If no one stands out as the MOH. I would have had all BM's and not worried about it. You have to go with your gut.

i'm sorry sister or not, if she is not supportive of your soon to be marriage, then she is bound to be difficult during the process. if she accepts you have to make it very clear to her upfront what you do not expect of her (her attitude).

If you have 3 MOHs, who is going to stand on the alter with you? All 3?

i wouldnt pick her nor having her in the wedding, she would be a guest . I dont think you should have someone like that in such an important role in your wedding.

Oldest to youngest. They are all standing in the order of how logn I have known them... thus oldest sisters first to youngest for MOH's and then also my 2 friends that are bm's there is no who Iike better than the other... I just put them in order of who I have known the longest. I think its going to work great!! Whew!!!

You can have a matron of honor instead if you want? then pick a support aunt of something to fill that role.
