When i got the mail day there was something in there from the church i opened it and it was a letter about FOCCUS a test we need to take and it is 10 per person. Then i was read that it will be on the weekend that im going away so i cant do it the week of the 9/7 so the next one is in jan 18 &20. so i calleed the ladie and she said she will put me in for 1/18 and then she tells me that you have to pay for PRE-CANA i was like want. she was like yes it is $50 per couple. I didnt know that you have to pay for pre cana so it you think about it the church is $350, the organist is $100, FOCCUS is $20, and pre-cana is $50. So you are really paying $520 for the church.. WOW

Just thought you ladies would like to know that .

I havent even had the chance to get that far. My church is being really difficult right now! They wont let me even pencil in our date. I just have to keep hounding on them!

The church really nails you...pardon the pun... we opted to not get married in the church and have a non religious ceremony at RH... it really adds up!!!

you're lucky i have to pay $300 for pre-cana, and don't forget that catholic churches require a donation. My church gave us the price list before we even booked. Some people book and then find all these fee's along the way. So including the fee for the church, organist, pre-cana, officiant, they told us beforehand the donation fee

The reason the pre-cana fees are so different for example $50 or $300 is depending on where you get married. A parish will cost less than a diocese

my 'donation' to the church is $700 i havent even looked into how much they are going to make me pay for pre cana

oh, and have fun with the FOCCUS test, wait till you see some of the questions they ask you...can we say personal?!?!

my churches 'offerings' comes to a nice $700 plus $50 for pre-cana and foccus.

The best is that when I asked the priest about the weekend pre-cana he told me it was $250 and thats alot he said we should save for more importnat stuff and I was thinking yeah like YOUR CHURCH OFFERING!!!!!!!

love my church though cant wait to get married there

it all adds up to be quite a bit but the church i will be getting married in comes out to be about the same as what the RH would have charged us to have the ceremony.
at first i was really upset that i couldn;t get married in my church (it is much to far from the RH) but then when i heard what they charge i was a little more at ease about it. they ask for $1500 !!!

they milk you for very penny..... but then if you dont get married in a church your marriage is invalid in the eyes of them.... it's horrible... this is one of the reasons why I really would rather not have the ceremony in a church... but I know it means alot to FH so im gonna bite my tounge and do it.

We have the same thing going on... first they took our date... then they called back and told us it was too early that we would have to call them back iin 2008.

Ugh! That is really frustrating!! I hope everything goes smoothly from here on in!
