Okay I posted this under a crest hollow question but now I wanna know how the other halls do this??
My 20 % gratuity is being taxed because its a 'sevrice labor charge' whatever they informed me that a good tip for the maitre d' is between $4 and $6 a guest. Is this right I have no idea CHCC told me this so im assuming they are not doing me wrong but I was totally off. Im a waitress so I am always a 20% tipper I wouldn't wanna be cheap with this I didn;t count on this added money luckily I have it but dam I was thinking $200

some halls have told me 300 or 500. Im giving mine top $$$$ bc she is worth it...

My Rh asks for a $450 tip for the 2 maitre d's and a bridal attendant and I think one other person so I didn't think this was too bad.

The bridal attendant is a seperate $100 dont get mew wrong ladies I wanna give them a good tip Im just saying how surprised I was at what a good tip is.

we were told $3 to $5 per person BUT we loved ours SO MUCH we gave WAY over that and we ended up giving our bridal attendants a lot more too
i would put the minimum in an envelope and bring extra money to add if you feel it is needed

my bridal attendant is about $100 thats what i was told is normal the maitre d is the $4 to $6 a person

It's funny I heard about this by living around here but in PA the captain gets in on the gratuity and if she does a good job she gets extra. There is no set thing...i asked my coordinator she told me to wait till the day off and see how it goes? different...

I'm actually trying to figure out exactly what this '20%' goes to....
IMO, It's really ridiculous that they charge you tens of thousands of dollars THEN on top of that charge you an extra 20% (which on my bill is upwards of an extra 3 G's) THEN expect you to give a huge tip to the matre'd.
I'm not trying to be cheep, I just like to know where my money is going and more importantly WHY.

Is that for the Maitre D and Bridal Attendant combined?
We were told $3-4 for the Maitre D and 1-2 for the Bridal Attendant.

my RH told me to give $3 per guest in cash to the banquet manager.. no other tipping business.. because they will be distributing the $$.. i found that weird..

We were told the same thing except for the Bridal Attendant and that was optional.
