Did anyone tip the 'suggested' $5 per person. I'm thinking about tipping $3 pp. I feel so cheap! I'm meeting him tonight and he sounds so nice over the phone. I'm just over budget and gotta keep cost down. $3 pp is still ok right?

you give what you can afford. i think ours came out to be about $4 per person. we originally were going to give less but they did a really great job so we gave them more

I didn't do the suggested and I felt okay with it. It is a TIP. If they don't do their job, it will be reflected.

true story: we did $3 pp but our maitre D' was so fantastic we came back to the sterling and gave him the suggested plus a little more...we were tight too money wise but he really deserved it and it didnt all go to him.,.he confessed he was splitting it up with 2 of the waiters who was his son and nephew and worked extremely hard at our wedding.
