Maitre'D Tip

I'm seeing all these posts on tips.
My reception hall has already informed me that there is an extra 4% added to the bill for the maitre'd. I don't have to tip him or her on top of that do I? I think that is their tip.

I would say ...no...I was specifically told that my mairte d was not included in the 18%

I agree with the other post... I was told that the Matre'd isn't included... but if they told you he or she was, then don't worry about it !~

Thanks, I believe they told me it was 18% gratuity and 4% for the maitre'd, on top of the 18%. So that's why I would assume that is his tip.

If the matrie 'd is getting 4% of the tab then I wouldnt give him another dime.

you may want to prepare a TY card for them though...and be prepared with something...

I know how you guys felt about tipping...but after the wedding I was so happy that everyone helped things go perfectly - that I almost feel like I didn't tip enough...
