My friend had a problem finding a church not because it was a rush ceremony but because her church was booked and she had to go outside of hte parish. A church/priest can choose not to marry someone for whatever reason and some will not marry anybody outside of their parish... even under my friends circumstances... believe me i know cuz i called the churches out of the phone book trying to find a place for her. Some were very sympathetic and were just genuinely booked but some just didn't want to perform the ceremony and were just mean.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I would try to move the date up. I'm sure you will be able to put together a very nice affair in a short amount of time.

I am soooo sad & sorry to hear your news and I agree with what everyone else said, I'm sure your vendors will be willing to work with you under such circumstances. My mom died of breast cancer a few years back and I know that on my wedding day I will miss her dearly, the day will be bitter-sweet, but charish the time you do have with your mom & make your day the happiest that you and your mom will share, those memories will be with you forever!! You and your mom will be in my thoughts and I will light a candle for you both and pray. Like everyone else said, we are all here for you. Just remember to not focus on the sadness, but rather the happiness, your mom will feel better knowing her daughter is happy on her special day.

so sorry to hear about your mom
I would call the watermill and definitely try to move it up
you want your mom to be there!!If you call them
chances are they have some dates left in september oct, nov , etc.... leave yourself enough time to do everything but I am sure if you explain the situation to the watermill they will work with you, and you might even pay less money per person by picking a date closer that chances are they will not fill
I am bambling but do you know what I mean??If they have a weekend open lets say in oct or nov
you will pay less, chances are your date b/c it is so far away will not be a problem for them to fill

I, too, am so so sorry to hear about your mom. You will all be in my prayers. I also agree that if you can move it up - do it! This is a great board and you have a lot of support here, so any way we can help - you just post it!
