OMG...my mom ordered her dress 4 months ago and yesterday the dress person came back and said they can not make her dress. My wedding is in 2 months and now my mom has to start her dress shopping all over again.
I am from Staten Island so any help you girls can give me as to where to start looking for dresses will be helpful.
Please please please recommend mother of the bride stores. My mom and I are going to go from store to store on Saturday hoping and praying she finds one.

Try David's Bridal , Lord & Taylor, or maybe Lestan's on Ralph Avenue in Brooklyn, Thee is also a store in the Staten Island Mall that might have something.

ohh they just opened new york new york again in the staten island mall...i would look there ...and also macys in menlo park has a great selection

I was just at Saks (literally 5 minutes ago) and they have some beautiful dress. The one in NYC on Fifth Avenue. I am sure your mom could find something there.

I may have been very lucky, but when I went to Doris and ordered my dress it was in in a week. Now that may have just been a one time thing that happened but it can happen. Also some of the stores have dresses that you can buy off the rack. Good luck and don't just stay in SI come to Brooklyn too.

I woudl try the department stores on such short notice... the bridal shoppes will proably need more than 2 motnhs. the dresses in david's bridal are horrendous in my opinion, but they might have something.
are you willing to come to LI? Try estelle's dressy dresses.... my mom found a beautoful dress there for $140!
