What would you do? This is causing a huge fight with us (and we don't ever fight).
Short story is, my dad has a 'tie guy' that is willing to order ties for the groomsmen from Italy and they won't cost us anything. Problem is, I went through ALL the swatches and since he's working on Fall/Winter 2010-2011 already, everything is dark and not summer-ish. I found maybe 2 patterns I thought I could live with but after going to Bloomies and finding so many great ones, I don't want to settle with the free ones.
FH want to settle on ties because they are free--even though I don't like any of them.
And, my bridesmaid dresses are navy...the ties I 'like' are checkered with blue and the other one is dark pink and grey.
My wedding colors were going to be a light pink and navy....

i was stressing over the ties too. i laugh now bc looking back, i dont remember thinking even once about the ties. even looking at the pictures, its **** a small thing and no one even looks at the guys! haha as long as the girls look good, the boys are just arm candy enjoy the free ties imo

thats a lot of money on something as small as ties. i would either 1- get the free ones 2 - search for way cheaper ones 3- nix the whole idea and just get them from the tux place. ties are hardly noticed

I am all about the 'if its free its for me' I would go for the free ones Or see if I could find them cheaper elsewhere

Wow--this tie bar is amazing! Have you ever seen ties from here? Do they seem to be good quality?
The tie bar came highly recommended from Brides magazine, so even though I have never seen a tie from them I am going to order my guys ties from them. $15 for a silk tie, you can't beat that!!!

i would take the free ones...even if the ties are a little darker if you accent it with bright summery flowers i think it'll been fine...and since your girls dresses are navy anyway it will go with the color scheme...but you do have to like it so as long as you can find a pattern that you like i would go for it.

sorry but I am kind of w/ur FH on this one. $500-$600 bucks is a lot of money on something that most ppl wont notice that much that blue one sounds like it can work
maybe u can find cheaper ties and have a compromise w/ur FH? not to spend so much and get exactly the shade of tie u want?
I'm on board with this thinking as well. I would shop around for another alternative if you are really not happy, but that is a lot of money on ties.
