Major RH RANT!!

I'm so flabbergasted right now I don't even know what to do.

When I booked my RH a few weeks ago we weren't sure if we wanted to have it on a Friday or Sunday. We kept flip flopping in the office and couldn't make a decision. The person who was helping us said that we can put the deposit for one day and if we change our mind, they'll switch it without a problem as long as the date is still available. So we picked Sunday. Last night we finally decided that we really should do a Friday instead. I called to tell them and was told that 'I never said that you can switch the date. Furthermore, you got a really good price so you should just be happy with that'. Then they go on to quote me some exorbitant price if I want to go with Friday instead. There were three people in the office with me who heard them say that we could switch without a problem so I know I'm not crazy. I am beyond mad at this point. First off all, I don't' like being blatantly lied to. Secondly, don't insult me or my intelligence. FH and I are so offended by the whole situation that we're thinking of going down there tomorrow to cancel. We're going to decide tonight after cooler heads prevail. Right now, it doesn't look good for them...lol. However, I'm not looking forward to looking at more RH's. Wish me luck!!

that stinks ... can you speak with a manager at the RH and tel them how unhappy you are? even if they can't switch you to the friday, maybe they'll throw something into your wedding package?

Omg that's really horrible.....I would so so mad if that happened to me ..they should be helping u out not disgreeing with u ..u r giving them business what's crap...I would cancel it and look for a new place there r so many that will treat u like gold..good luck and I'm sorry that happened

that's completely uncool =/ Sorry to hear you're having such troubles, especially since you only booked with them a few weeks ago. I would definitely do as other poster suggested about meeting with either a manager or another banquet manager and see what they say.

This! When we went to look at venues they wrote down prices for Fri, Sat, and Sun. Also, Fridays and Sundays (at least for the 10 RH I went to) were all the same price... some people can be so rude!

Yeah. I would try to pull out of the contract.

I had a samiliar issue. We were booked at a hall in 2006 and had to cancel our wedding. They kept our deposit and said we could put it toward a future date. We picked a new date and called and they told us we were in the book for the date. we were assured we had the date. We didn't think it would be an issue since they already ahd our money and had been holding it for 5 years at that point. Well I called them an hour before the appointment we'd made to sign the contract to say we'd be a little alte and they told us they'd sold our date. After that they just got soooo nasty. I switched halls and it's soo much better. It just wasn't meant to be

Wow where did you go???!! That is terrible! They are sales people and will do whatever it takes to get the sale! If you can pull out of the contract with no fee, def do it - maybe they will work with you and give you the right price!

I think if I were you I would cancel with them, even if you do lose the money for it I think it would be better then headaches to come. The only advice that I was given by not only my brother but even some of the RH we looked at was 'make sure you are 100% happy with the people you are dealing with at your RH cause they can make or break your day'
if you do back out don't go out without a fight. Go right to the person in charge and put up a fight. Maybe they can try to win you back or ask for someone else to work with at that hall.

What hall did this happen at if you don't mind me asking, you can FM if you don't wanna post it. I'm so curious

This totally blows!!! If it is SLCC I would do like someone else suggested and bring it straight to Rich/ Banquet Manager's attention. That is total B.S. They shouldn't have the right to just say whatever they want to get you to sign the contract!!! Don't go down without a fight! HTH
