So I had gone a while ago dress shopping with my mom. I tried on a couple of strapless dresses and didnt really find a perfect one. Then I tried on a halter dress- my mom feel inlove with it and i guess at the time I really liked it too( I love the back of it)...and I didnt want to be pulling up my dress all night and worrying...so basically we ended up ordering it. So it is now in and I dont know how I feel about it anymore. I always wanted a strapless and now i have a halter. I am afriad i am going to look horrible (i have a big chest and im afraid im going to look top heavy)... I told my mom my feelings and of course she got really upset. I dont know what to do.
What do you think of the dress? Should i try to get another one? Should I stick with the halter?
-im afriad the lines in the dress will look horrible and i think i may want a fuller skirt and tighter in the waist?-I know that they say though full/princess skirts will make shorter girls look big? and im short 5'3.
its a beautiful dress at first i wanted strapless but now I have a spaghetti strap gown and I love it maybe you should go to the store try it on again to see if you have the same feelings about it I did and when I went and put it on I fell in love all over again

Re: major second thoughts about wedding dress
personally, I am not a fan of strapless dresses; i had my dress made into a vneck with straps. I like the halter and actually think it looks really good on bigger chested girls so I would stick with it, but that's just me. I wouldn't change a dress once I ordered it unless it looked totally hideous on me. If you hate the way it looks, then it's understandable. But if you liked it enough to order it, I'm sure you don't hate it now.

Re: major second thoughts about wedding dress
After all it is your wedding, I know moms can be pushy, but at the end its your day and you want to feel to comfortable yet beautiful. I mean it is a beautiful dress, can you exchange it ? I know some places can as long as no alterations were made.
Good Luck !

i was having second thoughts too - but my dress came in, i tried it on, and i felt so much better about it - i felt great in it and i know its going to look even better once the alterations are done....
i think the dress you posted is very pretty - why dont you go try it on? if you want a fuller skirt try wearing the fullest slip you can fit under the dress to poof it out - that is actually what i am doing with my a-line dress....

Re: major second thoughts about wedding dress
Have you tried your actual dress on yet? You may love it all over again once you do. I think the halter top on this dress will look nice on you. I don't think you're going to look top heavy at all, once you try on the dress that's fitted to your shape, you'll see. Just try it again and see how you feel.
Good luck

I think that is a beautiful dress....and I definitly do not think halters make busty girls look bigger. I think it makes them appear smaller if thats what you are worried about than I dont think you have anything to worry about.
If you dont like the dress than hey, its your wedding, you can still change it

Re: major second thoughts about wedding dress
The dress is gorgeous and the detailing is great! my friend is busty and only a little over 5' tall and she wore a halter. It was the PERFECT style for her - she looked fabulous and the 'girls' were in check all night so no youtube moments at the reception!!
I can totally relate - I ordered my gown in January and have been shopping with my FSIL seeing great dresses and sometimes thinking - did I get the right one?. I always said I'd never get strapless and somehow that's what I ordered...I'm convinced that once it comes in and I can finally try it on again - I'll fall in love with it all over!
No worries!!

I think the dress is beautiful! If you really do not like the halter, you may be able to get it changed into a strapless...
