Major Vent

Major Vent

With 40 days until the big day, I think I am going to have a big breakdown.

My BMs offered to do anything I wanted for my bachelorette (Vegas, spa, dinner, stripper, etc.). I guess at first, I wanted something, but as the time has gotten closer, I really don't. I feel like I had this amazing shower and am having this beautiful wedding, and enough is enough. They booked a suite at the Tribeca Grand, were getting a stripper, pizza, cupcakes from Magnolia bakery, lots of alcohol and then we would go bar hopping. This was what I said that I wanted when they convinced me to come up with something. But I really don't want it.

I think that they are surprised because I am the party-type of person. Last year I planned the mother of all bachelorette parties for a classmate (I was not in the bridal party). I paid for the entire thing. They all had dinner on my parent's boat while they drove us around the statute of liberty, and then dropped us off at a pier in NYC. I then rented out a pottery place, where everyone made ceramics. This happened after the most beautiful stripper came and danced for over an hour. Then we all went to hogs and heiffers and eventually came home for Cupcake Cafe Cupcakes. They all got $15 goody bags with beads, tatoos, condoms, and all this X rated stuff. It was an amazing party.

So I share that because I like to throw parties, but I guess I don't want one. I am not sure why I am even writing all of this because I don't even have a question.

I am just stressed. My FI just emailed me to remind me that next week we are supposed to take his cousins from England out to eat. Next week we are having our e-pics, seeing our sample c-pieces, having special beauty procedures done at the derm, having a dance lesson, etc.

Any advice?

Sorry...no advice, just some hugs. Maybe you could just do a girls day....like the spa and dinner or something simple without making a big bachlorette party out of it.

Want to throw my Bachelorette Party??

Seriously, though, I can totally understand where you are coming from.... try not to let all these overwhelm you by taking on one thing at a time. Pull aside just one of the BMs maybe, and tell her that you changed your mind and you want a more toned down bachelorette party if at all... and have her spread the word....

Good luck and -- I know it's hard-- but try not to stress too much!!

Ok...one of my BMs just called coincidentally. I told her and she was like, 'ok...there is no point in having one if you don't feel like it.' She did not care or wasn't offended. No wonder why I like her so much! Problem resolved.

I agree-- I am sure your friends will be more than pleased to have a chill out girls night. It's one less hairless stripper they will have to endure.. Don't be afraid to tell them what you want.

As a former party girl myself- I know what it feels like to just want to be chill.. Our wild oats are sown..

My advice after reading your post is this....enjoy all the good things happening in right now...they all seem to be positive stressors as opposed to negative and while I have felt the EXACT same way at times, just remember that all these things come down to a few days of your life...and they are being spent with the people you love the most!! SO...go out and have a blast with each event-and when all is said and done you can say you had the greatest time ever. Then you can take one long, well deserved nap!! :) Enjoy and congrats!!

I am so with you! I am the big planner for our group of friends and I don't want anything crazy for myself either. I really just want to go to some amazing restaurant for dinner that I would normally never eat at and then relax at a lounge or someone's house with my friends and some drinks. No stripper, no veil, no dancing on the bar.

You should have what you want, don't feel shy about telling them - they want to make you happy!

You sound very overwhelmed right now and I think a girls night out may be just the thing to help you relax. I understand that you dont feel like dealing with all of the hoopla, but let your friends spoil you and treat you like a queen for a day.
