It takes a long time to make wine. Think at least 8 months. And it's not harvest time right now, so you wouldn't be able to go from grapes.
You can do it at home, FH made an attempt at a fruit wine, which failed miserably. He's not a follow and do things perfectly kind of person, and wine making really is one of those things you have to control the conditions during.

DH makes his own wine - and you can make wine quicker than 8 montths - just depends what you want.

I just saw on FB one of my friends took her BP to a wine bottling place in Staten Island where they bottled thier own wine for her wedding favors. it looked like a lot of fun.
I want to say it is this place from the banner in one of her photos but I am not positive. I'll ask to make sure.
