I know that some of you girls look ABSOLUTELY amazing with ur makeup done by OKSANA and M---I---A but I had trials with both and was unhappy :(
I really just don't know where else to turn. I am so stressed at work and have no time to investigate but am so worried that my date is going to get booked up (as that's whats been happening)
Can anyone help me with an awesome recommendation for hair or make- up.
I would really really really appreciate it!!

I LOVE Niquay Fa for make up. She did my make up (and hair!) for my e-pics. She also did the make up for my sister's wedding in Feb. and will be doing the make up for my wedding. She is so nice and incredibly talented.

If you go to a MAC store...not the counter, you will find some artists who may be able to help you out. My sister had a freelance MAC artist do the makeup for her wedding and it all turned out well. Also, you can go to your favorite counter at the mall and find an artist there that you like. They are usually freelance makeup artists at the counters as well and they will come to you.

I don't understand... is your wedding July 4th this year or July 4, 2010?
If it's 2010, you don't have to plan your makeup now. Your skin may change, your face may change, your idea of what you like in terms of make-up could be completely different in a year than it is now. It sounds like you need to take a step back, a deep breath, and take some time to think about what you want. Maybe wait until this July so you can see how tan you normally are in the summertime in order to start your trials. Or wait until next year when you're closer to the person you'll be when it's closer to your wedding.
I know there is a lot to stress about in wedding planning, but you have so much time, everything will work out. There may be someone even more amazing and wonderful who will be able to do your makeup a million times better between now and then. Things have a way of working out better than you could even have imagined!

to be honest I have seen a few girls pics and have not liked how their make up came out. Take a look at my trial album and if you are interested FM. She is not as expensive as others and I personally love her work, and so do other gals.

I used Stacy Pitt for hair and Sally Duvall for makeup and they both did a great job.

Sorry to hear you weren't happy. I am using M*i*a, and originally I wasn't happy as well, but we worked through 2 additional rounds of color changes until I was satisfied, because I still liked her application technique.
In either event, I would also recommend Marisa from Brides by Marisa D. com. She did a nice job on my trial.

I used Oksana and was very happy with her....but I also had a great trial with Karen Wysoki (Art of Makeup). She can do traditional and airbrush and uses all MAC products...one of my friends used her and she was absolutely beautiful on her day.

she is not stressing about getting the exact make up look she will have on her day. BUT the thing is a lot of these make up and hair artists book up far in advance, and there are 2010 brides that tried booking a make up and hair artist but they are booked already for their date. People book now just to guarantee they get somebody they really want. I booked a year in advance just to guarantee i can get who i really wanted, it had nothing to do with me getting the exact look i wanted for my wedding day and not like a year before i had to know exactly how my make up would look. But i knew who i wanted and wanted to make sure thats who i used.
ETA: I used Maureen Pedala for make up and Claudia Pedala for hair

I am getting married this coming May 30th after getting in engaged this past October and deciding to just bite the bullet and plan a wedding in 5 months this past December. So, I know about the stress of not booking anyone (I STILL dont have a hair stylist!) Trust me, as someone who still has a ton to do and only 37 days until the big day - it will work out.

I am using Ciara a MAC artist from all dolled up. I have trial pics in my makeup and hair album.
Have you tried contacting Roseanna Amador from the pics i have seen she does very nice work.
