make-up crisis!

make-up crisis!

Hi Girls.. I went on 3 make-up trials and so far I just don't seem to be satisfied with how my make-up is turning out! After they are done I keep thinking 'oh well i'd have to fix that' or 'i do my eyeliner thinner and smoother..' Do you think I should just do my own makeup for the wedding day??

You need to do what's going to make you happy. If you feel like you are enough of an expert that you would just be telling the 'expert' what to do, then maybe it would be best for you to do your own. Just remember that it should be a touch heavier than you usually do since there will be lots of photos being taken.

I never wear make up so I had to have someone else do mine, and I was so happy about it! The one little thing I didn't like from my trial, she fixed on the wedding day and it was perfect!!!

I had 2 makeup trials. 2 different people. 2 different companies.

Both times I left feeling that I do a much better job. Everyone says they did a great job but at the same time, maybe I just feel more comfortable doing my makeup to how I'm used to as opposed to what someone else thinks looks nice on me.

So do you think you'll do your own make-up for your day?? Is it crazy to want to do that? I can't decide! Maybe the experts do know more about how the light will hit my makeup in the photos.. or mb i am giving them too much credit! I wear makeup everyday and am very particular! This is driving my crazy! lol

I think you should practice doing your own - you have plenty of time before your wedding I think you can experiment a bit and figure out what look you think works best for you - I am doing my own makeup and have been practicing alot - pics my album. You can go to one of the kiosks in macy's (lancome or mac) and they will help you pick out the products for your skintone etc... HTH

Im having the exact same problem! Unfortunately I am sure I can not handle doing my own makeup day of so...... what Im doing is working with the one who did the 'best' to get it better. I was very honest with what I did and didn't like about it and what I know about My face and best look. She was very open and not at all put out to keep making small changes. I am going back next weekend to re-do from scratch with all the things we discussed (no charge) and she said I can return whenever I choose to tweak it ,try a diff color, shape liner, ect.(no charge).

I am sure she will do a great job when the day comes b/c she is skilled and doesn't mind how particular I am.......Ill just bug her until she does

I'm in the same crisis.
I have to say I'm a huge make-up junkie and I truly think I'm pretty good at it.
I'm trying one more person this weekend if it will not work I will end up doing my own make-up.
The other day I organized my make-up case and wrote a list of things I need.
I know myself and know that nerves can take over me. I dotn want to go through a meltdown on my wedding day because my hand is shaking, etc.

Good luck.

Ditto this! Just ask them for tips and advice on the things you did like that they did and buy the corresponding products. And practice before the big day!!

If you want to try another make up artist, I can't recommend Niquay Fa highly enough. I just posted some pro teaser pix in my album, so you can see some of her work there. She is an amazingly talented makeup artist.

I did my make up with Ciara and she did an amazing job! Not to mention I recommended a few girls and they booked her on the spot. Give her a trial. Her trial cost is very affordable.

I thought about doing the same thing because I am so particular with my makeup. I have NEVER let anyone else do it in my life..But I went for a trial after seeing her do a wedding for a girl I went to college with & OMG..can I just tell you..AMAZING!! I booked her for my wedding! Everyone said that it looked like I did it, which is great so I don't look like a clown or anything. .but I know the shadow was awesome that she did..she used gel eyeliner because I am afraid I'll cry my eyes out the day of & I also had the airbrush done. I have pics in my albums of the trial & my E-Pics that I had it for. FM me for her in for if you'd like. Good Luck!

i would definitly try christy ann cosmetics, I had my one and only trial with her, and she was soo sweet, and she did a really great job, I told her I neeeeded to have black eyeliner on the inside of the bottom of my eye, and she listened to exactly what i said!!! I booked with her right after that trial!!

Oh ok that's who I used! haha LOOOOVE HER!!
