The make up artist that I was planning to use stood me up. I also just got the proofs from imagine and kind of like the way my make up was done there and appeared in the pictures.
I am posting a link to the shutterfly so you guys can critique the make up. Keep in mind that I am having a semiformal day wedding, and so far the only change I plan to make is to have somewhat brighter lip color in a mauvy/pinky shade.
Alina, do you have a close-up? It looks really nice, but I can't tell too much from the pics.

Re: Make Up Critique
You look nice but I agree with the others. You can't really see the makeup.Do you have something closer?

I agree with everyone else, you can't see the makeup in those pictures.

Re: Make Up Critique
I think it looks good, if you're going for a natural kind of look. You look polished, but not over done. I agree with using a darker lip color, it will make you look a bit dressier.

Re: Make Up Critique
You look nice. But it is heard to offer a honest critique of the makeup. You can't really see your face close-up.

Re: Make Up Critique
Alina...all of these photos were taken with a fuzzy lens or something similiar so its virtually impossible to tell how the makeup looked. (The fuzzy lens will even out everyones skin tone.)
I think you looked pretty but I dont think that has anything to do with the makeup.

Re: Make Up Critique
I am sorry girls, but we didn't have any real close ups taken and scanned.
I am trying to go for a natural look. Normally I don't wear any make up at all.

Re: Make Up Critique
Stef, what's a fuzzy lens? The actual proofs don't look 'fuzzy' Is there a way for me to manipulate the image so you guys can see it better?

Alina, Your pictures came out great but it's so hard to see your makeup. Do you have any other picture?

Re: Make Up Critique
The fuzzy looks comes from a soft focus lens or filter.
See how everything looks a little bit soft and hazy in this photo. That effects makes skin tones more even, teeth look a bit whiter, the background look a little more dreamy. Its a very flattering photography technique but not a good idea if you are looking for accruate photographs and details.
I very rarely wear makeup but I think if you are being photographed (like on your wedding day) you need to wear what I would consider a lot. Unless you are adept at doing it yourself, its worth hiring someone.
