Make-up for asian brides

Original post by Baldshrimp

Does anyone have any info on people they have heard about or have used for asian brides? My fiancee is Chinese and my sister is Korean. They have a hard time finding some who can cut their hair so it compliments their features. Now with make-up for each of their weddings being a factor I'd like to help and surprise them by maybe paying for both.

Please feel free to reply here or FM me anytime.

Thanks for everyone's help

&

Best wishes for many years of happiness, health, and success,

Thomas

Hello Thomas! I went to 5 trials before I found the right one. I used Wendy 516-298-3774, and I loved my makeup. She came highly recommended by Tara Le, who is doing my hair. Good luck!

i went with Sachiko Yanese of Bellegente Salon located near Tiffany's in manhattan. she's both a makeup artist and hair stylist. She'll also travel to you which is a huge plus for me. She did both me and my gal pal's wedding and a great job she did! hair and makeup trials are free adn call her quickly to make an appointment cuz she gets booked very quickly. *have yoru fiance and sister bring pictures of hair and makeup.

Re: Make-up for asian brides

hello thomas!

i'm a korean bride getting married in nyc and i'm also www.xanga.com/weddingbee as mentioned in one of the replies above.

i went for a trial hair and make-up session at the kakaboka salon. she is good but she does very natural looking make-up. i wanted it a little heavier because you need heavier make-up when taking pictures.

i might have another trial with her or perhaps even use another make-up artist. she is very good - i'm just pretty picky. =)

nonasian make-up artists for the most part cannot apply make-up to asians.

wedding one does not have make-up at the soho location. only at the locations in flushing and fortlee. i hear good things about them, but it's too far for me. i'll let you know if i find out anything new. good luck!

Try Jacqueline Nicole, who is a vendor here. I'm using her for my wedding day. I'm a Filipino-American with (hence) asian eyes

I'm using Tara-le for my hair and Maureen Pedala for my makeup. They both did a great job during the trials on me.
