is this a thing? i was definitely planning on getting my hair done, but now i'm thinking i should also get my make up done. i'm also have a moment of freaking out since we're doing our shoot in boston, and i don't think the salon i used to go to there does make up, too ... ahhhh!!!
no I didn't get my makeup done for the e-shoot- I curled my hair and did my own makeup. I know alot of people schedule their makeup trial to be done on the day of their e-shoot because they are going to have to pay for a trial anyway. If you were to do it that way, then it would make alot of sense

I went for a second makeup trial the day of my e-shoot. I was glad I was able to see how my makeup would looked in the pictures so I would know how it looks on my wedding day.

So I got my make-up done and actually didn't like the way it turned out AT ALL. Luckily we had a part 2 session with our photographer to take some additional photos and I much preferred my look when I did my own hair and make-up - who would have thought?! lol My piece of advice is to leave enough time after your appointment to fix it if you don't like it - I made that foolish mistake :( haha

Yeah you need to pay, but it's not a set fee. As long you buy something, they will do your makeup. Same goes for lord and taylor and stores like that. You just usually need to buy 1 or 2 things

ahhh so good to know ... this might be an easy way of doing this out of town ... !!!
I am doing my own hair. The only reason I have scheduled makeup is because I am terrible at doing my own makeup. I have already had my wedding day trial, so this makeup will be more natural and closer to the way I wear it daily. I just want it professionally done so I don't have to worry about uneven eyeliner or something. But if you usually do your own makeup, I think you will be fine.

OMG OMG to my fellow Boston girl! When I was in Boston in June I stopped at the Bobbi Brown counter at Neiman Marcus at the Prudential Center. Working there was a man named Edward Fee who was AMAZING. This was totally spur of the moment for me (I just needed a new mascara!) but he did all my make up and everything was so amazing, I bought a TON of stuff. He knows colors and what will look best on you, he's a genius!
He was so awesome, I even took his card because he said he often travels to NY and I thought about using him for my MUA (I decided against it just because logistically it'd be more expensive to get him to come to NY). If you want his contact info just to see what days he works, just let me know!
i ended up doing one of my makeup/hair trials on the day of the e-shoot so it worked out.
You definitely don't need to - I only did because I was able to schedule my trials for the same day.
