Make-up Issue

Make-up Issue

I had two makeup trials. My first was with a vendor on here and the second was with someone at a MAC counter...I LOVED my second trial! I really want to book that person. But the thing is, i'm not sure if I want to trust that person to do weddings... I hear nightmares all the time about vendors just not showing up and I wouldn't want this to happen, especially not with makeup....what do you think I should do?

hmm that's a hard one- if you really liked the trial, I would say book her but get everything in writing and maybe have a back-up available (like a friend or family member who is good at make-up?)

but honestly, if you are going to stress whether or not she shows up- I say book someone else- can the mac girl provide references or something to ease your mind?

If you really liked that trial I would try to stick with that one as long as it's not going to incredibly stress you out cause you don't need that. Make sure you keep in contact with her and have everything planned out. I'm sure while you're doing that you'd also get a feel for her and see if you're comfortable with it. Did she say she had done any weddings before??

I have heard many people gettting people from MAC to do their makeup. I think as long as you get something in writing you will be fine. GL

if you love the 2nd trial, have her put something in writing, including what will happen is she becomes unavailable (she gets sick, whatever the reason).

my coworker always tells the story of how when she got married, (years ago, in atlanta) she hired a MAC artist, and the day before the wedding, the make up artist called to tell her she was going on tour w/ her boyfriend and would not be able to do her wedding day make up. instead she gave her the card showing her how to do her eye makeup. she had no back up, and ended up doing her make up herself. she said she overdid it w/ the foundation, and it was noticeable in the pics.

many girls on here have had good experiences w/ MAC artists, i would just say make sure you have a back up and a contract. you never know what can happen.

Hey sweetie Just get something in writing, ask her, thats all....if shes a professional, she will be more then happy to do it...this should put your mind at ease that she is obligated to come. ALSO, get her email address, and then every month or so, just send her a little email saying hello and touching base with her just so you can stay connected and know shes in the loop....
