I just got a quote from a makeup artist for my wedding makeup. She charges $175 for the bride and $95 for each additional person. Is this an average price? I have no clue about any of this and none of my other friends have had their make-up professionally done for their weddings! It seems high but what do I know? TIA!!

Re: make-up prices
I am paying $85 for my makeup and $75 for Bridesmaid/Mom makeup, through the makeup artist who works with my salon...
Incidentally, she happens to be a consultant at the Elizabeth Arden counter in the Walt Whitman mall...perhaps try going to a local mall and see if any of the consultants do makeup application on the side - a lot of them do and they tend to be less expensive...

Re: make-up prices
That's a little high. most of us pay 100-125 for ourselves and 100 and less for everyone else.

Re: make-up prices
I always wondered why the prices vary. If I go into someplace and have my make up done for a night out they charge $50 to $60. As soon as you tell them your getting married the price goes up to $100 plus.
Do they do anything different?

Re: make-up prices
Thanks for the info.
If the person doing your hair or makeup is in business for themselves, like not coming from a salon, do you tip them also? I always thought that if it's their business and the $$ goes straight to them you don't have to tip. Anyone know the etiquette for this?
