make-up trial question

make-up trial question

I had mine over the weekend. After 7 hours, my foundation started to break up. It's a new product that they carry... I usually use their other foundation. I also wasn't crazy about my eye color... it was pinkish (I think she tried to go with my BM colors, which is wine). It looked really pretty, but when my FH saw it, he said I looked as pretty as I always look . He's very sweet to say that, but what he really meant was that he didn't notice anything different! Shouldn't it look a little more dramatic than everyday for the wedding? I think I'm going to go back and try different colors for the eyes (maybe green) and a different foundation in the line. There's no charge for the trial, but I feel bad going back to her and saying I wasn't crazy about it. I mean... she's really good... and I really like HER, but I just didn't like the colors. (I wish I had pics to show you, but my computer STINKS... getting a new one delivered within a week, so I should be able to start posting more pics).

For anyone who used Oksana, what make up line does she use? I'm allergic to a lot of foundations (I break out), so I'm afraid to use anything except what I use everyday.

It's all what you would feel most comfortable with. If you like this makeup artist, but didn't like the colors she choose, maybe arrange for a second trial so that you can show her which colors you had in mind? Suppling pictures can also be a big help if you didn't do so already.

I believe that Oksana uses MAC makeup, but I never had a trial with her, I only heard from others.

Uhh, in my experience, men don't notice anything different Ever. Ever. So don't base your opinions on what he says.

That said, you should go a little more dramatic than everyday for the wedding if that's what you want to do.

I'm using Oksana and she uses alot of MAC products. I too had the same problem as you with the LM products. They were great for everday wear, but I needed something that lasted alot longer. My trial with Oksana was wonderful. My makeup including the fake lashes lasted all day and night and my makeup still looked great in the morning. My makeup with Laura Mercier, was nice, but was totally off my face in a few hours. Not what I want happening on my wedding day.

ooh... I'm glad you said that. I even went out with it... I had the trial at 2... got home at 11:30, and all the make up was separating on my face! That's only 9 hours! That means, by the time we cut the cake, the make up will be off! . I think I may give LM one more try... using one of their other foundations... and then try Oksana. Hopefully, she's available on my date.

Oksana uses MAC and also Sacha Cosmetics. (I think she told me the foundation she used on me was Sacha)

I can vouch for Sacha Cosmetics, because I used their stuff for my brother's wedding. I put it on at 10am and at 10pm it was still in place. That stuff does not move for anything.

I had my trial with oksana on sunday and it was great. You can see my pics on here under 'my trial with Oksana'. She told me her foundation is the professional stuff they use for TV and movies and that you cannot even get it unless youare in the industry.
Your foundation 'breaking up' is NOT good and I would try something else. Oksana was wonderful and the makeup lasted perfectly for at least 10 hours until I took it off. The only change was that my pores opened and absorbed some of it which only made it more natural looking and feeling. There was no 'breaking up'. Good luck, HTH
