I saw how I look in my pics and I HATE my trials for my makeup. I look too made up with red cheeks, it reminds me of a clown!!!!! JN is taken for my day, I have already tried Fairytale makeovers, gorgeous faces and a salon in great neck. I am wasting so much money looking for someone. I am also not sure about my hair although the hair seems to be better than the makeup. I know people mentioned maximus in the mall and maybe Nubest. Anyone have any other suggestions for natural yet really pretty makeup???? Thanks I am so frustrated!!!

Re: make up trial vent
Hi: I just came back from Macy's Manhasset. I got a makeover done at the MAC counter by a girl named Irene and I really likke it!! I had to buy $50 worth of makeup because this makeover was for my e-party tonight. But she said that brides' trials are free. And they can come to your home if you want them to. The number is 516-869-2264.
Good Luck with everything!

I had a makeup trial I hated too! I searched and searched and I ended up going for a trial at the Chanel counter by a girl named Melanie. She is in Macys in smithhaven mall. The trial was free! I really liked what she did on the day of my wedding. Good luck!!

If you are not a make-up person & want to look natural. I would suggest the Bobbi Brown counter!! There make up is fantastic!

Re: make up trial vent
Usually I wear very little make up. I knew that I wanted someone to do my make up for my wedding - (cause I couldn't do a good enough job myself!) - but I also just wanted to look natural. I will be using Lisa St Onge. She works at the Cactus Salon in PLainview. (Her # 516-938-3223) I was VERY happy w/my make up trial. She's fair too. There's no charge for the make up application - but you have to buy $50 in make up. So - I bought some things - and I really like her products. I know that it's frustrating to be spending money - and your time - and not find what you're looking for. But - there are a lot of qualified make up artists out there. Don't get discouraged!! You'll look beautiful on your wedding day!!

Re: make up trial vent
I am so dreading this part of the planning process. Does any one have an idea what the make up counters in the dept stores charge if they travel to where we are getting ready the day of the wedding? (do they even do that?) Just curious...

I also started feeling the same way. But I am working with Jennifer at Fairytale Makeovers and if you tell her what you don't like she will gladly work with you to get the look that you want. She is extremely nice and takes a geniune interest in making sure you are satisfied. It may help now that you know what you definitely DON'T want.

I think you should definitely try Clinique, that's who is doing my makeup and I love it. It is very natural and you don't even feel like your wearing makeup. There was also no charge for trials.

I'm using a girl named Bessie from Beautiful Girls. My sister used her for her wedding last year and she came out great. Her # is 718-707-1089. She comes to you.
Good luck and I hope you find someone.

Re: make up trial vent
I am using Jillian from Gorgeous Faces and I loved my trial. I was wondering what you didn't like so I can talk to her about it- wrong foundation color, too much eye makeup? Thanks!

SeptemberBride-
I did not notice this when I did my trial it was only after my pics came back from the trial, my cheeks were WAY too red and my eyes were too dark. I think it was ok in person but now I know what I looked like in the camera.

Re: make up trial vent
Thank you. I'm going to look at my pictures again. She was so helpful, I know she will change anything. You could ask her to do less and show her the pictures. Good Luck!
