Makeup and Hair Trial

I had my hair and make up trial on Saturday.

I went to Explosion in Howard Beach. Anna did my hair. Someone had recommended her to me on this board but I am sorry I do not remember who (thank you!). I told Anna that and she was so happy to hear it. She was telling everyone in the shop! JoAnn at Explosion did my makeup.

I loved my hair and the verdict is still out on the makeup. I like how it looked but I had my shower that night and when I got home my mascara was smeared (regularly my mascara doesn't smear as much as it did) and the makeup was totally worn away. I actually added blush halfway thru the night too! My wedding will be a much longer day so I am worried. I might try someone else out to compare.

My friends all night were complimenting me on my eye makeup though. My one friend noticed it as soon as I walked in the room...she said my eyes were sparkling!

The back of my hair....a quick mock up! I plan on wearing my veil all day so you won't see much of my hair but I still wanted a pretty bun.

Love your hair! But I agree about the make up - it should last all day, so you might want to keep looking for comparison. I can give you my make up woman's name and # if you want - just let me know.

In the first pix was your hair done already?? Sorry the makeup trial did not go too well. You can always try Jennifer from Fairytale makeovers she is wonderful.

Teri, Shamma - do the people you recommend come to your house?

Shamma, In the first picture my hair was wet. I had my hair done first and then we washed it out because I wanted them to blow it out straight. In between my updo and the blow out, I had my makeup done.

BridetoBe, I had my makeup trial on Saturday too and my eyeliner was running, I wasn't very happy with that at all. I am using the salon I get my hair done at and the owner does makeup. My eyeshadow looked great and of course it dulled a little (went to a wedding and 10 hours later it was much lighter than the morn) and I agree with you that I want my makeup to last all day. I am in a bind though because my hair girl is opening the salon for me and I can't say no to the makeup lady now...maybe I can talk to her about the eyeliner running when I go in there next.

Yep - she lives in Nassau and travels to your home - she charges $50 for a trial and $100 for brides on the day of the weddding, $50 for everyone else.

I am using Jacqueline Nicole who also comes to your house.
I slept in my trial makeup and it still looked good in the morning..perfect!

Jacqueline Nicole gives you a free trial. If you like her work you leave a $25 deposit that goes towards the makeup on the wedding day. The makeup the day of is then $100. JN has a hair person Ciro, I hear hes fabulous.
