Makeup artists
How far in advance should I book a makeup artist? I keep hearing how all of them are really booked.

I am getting married Sept 2004 and I am going for a trail in a few weeks and will probably book on the spot. I do know that a few makeup artists are not taking 2004 appointments yet.
I think it depends on who you go to. The popular ones on this site book up very far in advance. Whereas I've been to others who tell me I still have time for my November wedding. I still haven't booked one yet. If you have the time go for trials but I don't think you should feel rushed!
I agree, the ones from this site are booked very quickly, but there are many out there that may be just as good, or even better. So don't rush into anything. I paniced over it when I found out JN was booked, but I also have a 'wasn't meant to be' attitude.
I had my trial(& booked) with Jacqueline Nicole about 6 & a half months in advance. Some might say that was early, but I know others who have booked further in advance also. I did this for 2 reasons, one JN is highly recommended & I know she books fast. And two, I feel that anything I can accomplish(wedding related) early I should, because there is a lot of things I can't accomplish till its closer too the wedding.
I had a couple of makeup trials six weeks before (and both trials were makeup artists who are featured vendors here!). However, I recommend booking them way before I did to save you from stressing out. Good luck!
my personal opinion is, if you find someone that you like, and you have the possibility of booking them early, then that's just more off your shoulders!

I would do it as soon as you have a chance! I would book anything you can now - you'll get first choice on the best vendors! I'm using Jillian from Gorgeous Faces- she advertises on here and is amazing!!
