I'm clueless. I just spoke with a makeup artist at a salon...so much more affordable than going with those who come to your house. And I've seen her work and it looks great. So...my hair stylist will come to my house. Do I get makeup done first or hair done first? The makeup artist suggested makeup first, as she'll be touching my head and all that. So should I go to salon first for makeup, then have my hairstylist come to my house after?
What did the rest of you do, or plan to do?
Thanks!

Re: Makeup before hair/Hair before makeup?
i was thinking of doing the same thing b/c i find its very expensive for the LI vendors to come to your house-- i just have to find a good hair person & make-up- who are you going to use>- i thought hair was suppose to be done first but i am not sure

Re: Makeup before hair/Hair before makeup?
I have a hairstylist that I've used forever....she'll come to my house.
Makeup, I'm going to an outside salon. Probably Ultimate Look in Farmingdale. There was a past bride who used them so I figured I'd check them out.

Re: Makeup before hair/Hair before makeup?
I'd go with hair first, then makeup. I guess because that's the way I've always seen it being done that's how I've always done it lol. It just seems more logical to me because makeup doesn't stay fresh as long as hair lasts. To me, that's the last thing I wanna do. Plus the heat from the hair irons/dryers and the hair sprays and all that to me melt/mess up makeup. That's just my experience. HTH.

bump for more brides.
I think this is a great question and am very curious to hear what most of you are doing. I am trying to make that decision right now, as we speak.
Thanks...

Hair first, then make-up. With all the hairspray used your M/U will get messed up if it's done first.

Re: Makeup before hair/Hair before makeup?
I was all set to do hair first and on the day of Mia asked my preference and I was like '..uhh...I dunno!' and we did my make-up first...about half-way through I remembered why I didn't want to but it was not a problem at all..hth!

I would tend to think hair first because you want your makeup to be fresh and not to get smudged when they do your hair.

i'd say to makeup first. aside her touching your head, what if it's windy or there's not so nice weather that day? you wanna be out in it with your hair done as little as possible.

Re: Makeup before hair/Hair before makeup?
Well, I just got my answer from my makeup artist and b/c I am getting my makeup airbrushed, she said that I should get my hair done last.
HTH ladies. I know this thread definitely helped me. :)
