Makeup Brands?--Edited

I'm going to buy my own makeup for the makeup trial (my skin is sensitive/prone to breakouts so I don't want to take any chances). Which makeup brands would you suggest? I have no clue about makeup, lol and I don't want to just walk up to any counter at Saks.

TIA

ETA : MAC seems to be the way to go!!

I have another question....I'm thinking of going for a spray tanning or airbrush tanning trial before the wedding so I can see how I like it.....I guess I should get the makeup after my trial since my coloring will change, right?

I also have super sensitive skin, and I use Clinique. Their stuff is great!

I have the same problem with make up bec my skin is also very very sensitive and my face gets red and I break out. I have tried all the famous designer brands, and the most expensive one and I have noticed they make your skin worse. Yves St Laurant, Dior, Channel, you name it, made me break out soooo bad and gave me horrible skin. One time a Channel foundation turned green on me, yes GREEN, ewwwwwwwww. So I used Almay, its non-cosmolagenic ( not the correct spelling) and hyperallergenic, which I believe is good for you.

For sensitive skin, Clinique and Almay are highly recommended. You may also try Bare Escentuals--it's all natural make-up that is even healthy for your skin.

grrrrr.... My response was just deleted while I tried to post....

my skin is dry... so it's different from yours... so the specific formulas will be different... but after researching make-up websites, they highly recommend smashbox primer and make-up.
They also make great blush.

Cat cosmetics makes great eye make-up. They make a 2-sided pen called 'meow-za'. It has a black liner on one side, and a copper shadow on the other. It enhances eyes, while keeping it natural. Put it on thicker, and it becomes a dramatic night look....

lancome makes great mascara. And shu uemera makes the best lash curler.

the smashbox and lash curler are at sephora. Cat cosmetics you can really only get online....

Re: Makeup Brands?

Hey everyone! I'm actually a Chanel rep/makeup artist and I've been working in the industry for 10 years. Clinique is not the best for your skin. Plus every cosmetic line from the cheapest to the most expensive is allergy and dermatologist tested. They have to be to be put on the market. Bare Escentuals has a top ingredient which is Bismuth Oxychloride which doesn't allow your skin to breathe which can make skin breakout or become sensitive. Girls who have a reaction to makeup are not using the right product for there skin or may be allergic to the sunscreen chemical that is put into the makeup. I'm going to be honest Chanel has a lot of great products. But, not every product is great for everyone. But, we did just come out with a great foundation Tient Innocence. I actually have very sensitive skin prone to breakout and I can use this new formula. As with skincare unfortunately it's trial and error also. Your skin may not aggree to some of the ingredients. Cliniques 3 step is terrible for skin especially their claifying lotions which contain alot of alcohol. Any questions fm me and I'll do a trial on you or give you samples to try.

I love Bare escentuals. I have slept in it and no worse for the wear unless you count my pillow. Chanel made me break out. So did Maybelline and Covergirl. Clinique is hit or miss. Ironically ALMYS new color match/blend whatever makeup (one that starst white and 'turns' color of your skin) is fantastic and no blocked pores.

Does anyone know where you would start if you might be interested in having your makeup done professionally day of the wedding?

Start with what?

Its by ALMAY. Its a white cream foundation. VERY weird. It comes in 3 shades-u read the back and see what foundation color you normally use and then tells you which is the best match. I usee 300 I think because my foundations are always in 'honey/tan' categories. So anyway, starts out white like face lotion but after a minute it blends in perfectly. You just rub it in like a mosturizer and if you see some smudges, VERY easy to blend in. My best friend couldnt tell I had anything on. Neither could FH.

Bare Minerals is GREAT makeup for sensitive skin, its so great and you can sleep in it and will never break out...ever!

Spray tanning is risky, i did it once and turned out orange. Id say go to a professional salon and get airbrushed!
