makeup budget

I don't know why I am having so much trouble deciding on a budget for this. I told my girls I would pay for their makeup, which I now regret but can't reneg on. I got my makeup done for my MOH's wedding and I hated it, so I think I am willing to spend a bit more, but some of the quotes I got are over $1,000 for me and three girls. Is it just me or is that a lot? I have a trial with someone on the cheap end thursday. I guess we will see what an inexpensive artist does and I can bump it up if I have too. Is this an instance where you get what yo pay for?

thats a ridiculous qoute!! My friend used makeup by jacqueline nicole and it came out amazing! I am est the cost, but I think it was like $150 for the bride and then about $100 (but im pretty sure it was a lil less) for each of the girls..So for you and 3 girls it shouldnt be more than $450!

That is a ridiculous quote. It should b no more than 150 a person am honestly the BM should be less than 150

That quote is way too high! When I booked my quotes were $125 for me and I believer $65 for BM and if they want airbrush its an additional $25. Mine included false lashes and airbrush

I sent you FM, but that price is way too high for you and 3 BMs! I understand that make-up is a HUGE part of the wedding, but it should not be that expensive.

Sorry, but thats a ridiculous amount of money! Bridal make-up should be around $150 and BM should be less than $100..somewhere around $75. I think you can definitely get a lower quote from a really good MU artist.

Okay thanks everyone. I thought the 1k price was high too. I just want to make sure I like my makeup on the day of because I have yet to have it done professionally and actually like it.

um, that is crazy high. my day of makeup is $150 and $75 for my BM.

I'd prob shop around but it depends on how picky you are and how many different trials you want to do and can afford to pay for... Was your quote from a celebrity mu? They are the only ones I've seen that charge that amount. I honestly feel its about how important it is to you. My one MOH has very oil skin. She was just in a wedding this wknd and... Im going to be gentle bc I dont know who reads this... But by the time we saw her at the ceremony her face was completely greasy, her eyeshadow was creased on her lid, all the hairspray they put in her updo (I guess she was sweating a lot) was on her forehead. She broke out with a pimple during the night from it... We are on a TIGHT budget but my FH made a amazing point and said that we are paying a good amount for our photos and video and we do not want her looking like that in them. I know the BM makeup was $75 for her... Really its all about how important you feel it is.

if you are looking for something much less expensive that this I would say you can def find it. my MU is 100 for me and 55 for anyone else. I
But I would def have a trail first so that you make sure they do work that you are satisfied with.

Everyone has a different idea of a 'budget' in mind. I will not pay more than $150 for my makeup, day of. I canceled a trial w another vendor who wouldnt give out a price until AFTER you met with her. Well, I did some hunting around and FM'd other brides using her, and found out her day of price started at $200.

It is super important that YOU love your makeup, and how you come out in pictures.... but it's also important that you dont spend money you really dont have, or want to part with.

Ok that is an insane quote for makeup. I am paying $100 for me and everyone else is $100 too. $1000 that is just crazy.

that is a crazy price. i have no idea who you have been looking at but you should not spend more then $100 for bridesmaids.

you should actually check the mac counter, many of the girls do freelance and travel if you have a minimum. they usually charge $50-$85.
