Who are you using? AND why did you pick this vendor over another (was it $$ or talent or availability etc). I've seen so many vendors mentioned on here with lots of rave reviews... just figured I'd ask how I might narrow it down. thanks ladies!

I asked my hair stylist and she recommended her friend Chante. I had a trial with Chante for $75 and loved it!! That was early on. Then I had airbrush done for my b-pics because I wasn't sure if I wanted airbrush for my wedding or not. I did NOT end up wanting it for my wedding because for me personally the airbrush looked great in pics but looked dry and cakey in person. I wanted to glow on my wedding day. I had another trial with Chante closer to my wedding in order to refine the style I wanted. I used her on my wedding day, for my day after pics, and KerriJohnS used her for her wedding and I used her for my BM makeup for Kerri's wedding.

I was going to use a friend who is a MU artist, but tried Oksana after dozens of referrals. I LOVED my trial. She's really great to work with too. Her trial was a lot less than others as well.

thanks girls... i don't have any friends who do makeup so i'll probably look into some trials. i didn't even know about airbrush makeup until LIW. i don't know much about it so i guess i'll have to look into it and pros/cons!

I'm using Christy from Christy Ann Cosmetics. I saw what she did for a friend I went to college with & I had to know who did her makeup. I was all ready to do my own since I never let anyone else do it. But one problem,..I'm afraid of sweating & crying alot so I wanted to find a professional to do it. She used airbrush & a gel eyeliner that lasted all day for my trial in September & it was pretty warm out that day. Love it & booked her on the spot!
I knew I wanted Oksana even before a trial. I've seen her work on LIW and have heard a bunch of rave reviews. She did my epics makeup and I booked her for my wedding on the same day.

I had a few makeup/hair trials and didnt love them. I already posted about my frustration with that! lol
I have decided I am going to do my own makeup. There are a lot of great makeup tutorials online and I pretty much practice and experiment every day. I think I have come close to the look I want and I'm sure I will have it on my wedding day. All the tips are online and you can also go to Ulta or a dept store and they can give you a make-over and give you application tips.
For hair, it's a little trickier. I probably will experiment and try to do it myself too (I'm wearing it either all down or half down, not an updo). Lots of tutorials online as well. I might need to call in some friends to help curl it (I have long hair) the day of, but I think it will be fine.
But that's just me! It's just getting crazy paying for all of these things and sometimes, I feel like I'm becoming a different person, getting swallowed into all the plans and expectations and I don't like that so much.

I went nutz looking for a makeup artist that was affordable and would do nice natrual makeup on me . I had the best makeup artist ever

i'm using christy too! and it was because i saw how gorg gina's makeup trial pics are... it was the look i'm going for. and christy is such a sweetheart

She is such a sweetheart and verrryy talented. She had a lot of great reviews so I went to her for my e-pics & then again for a separate wedding trial. LOVED my mu both times
I think she is pretty reasonable too. Her trials are only $35 and she does them out of her house in Huntington. For the wedding, she travels to the bride and it is $125 for bride ($150 for airbrush) and $55 for BMs.

i chose Maureen Pedala. It definately wasnt for $$ because she is very very pricey however for me personally, I was willing to spend a good amount of money on makeup and hair for my weddign day so i would feel my absolute best. i saw brides on here who had used her and there makeup always looked completely flawless plus she always was on time, professional, etc. I also loved that she had been a makeup artist for celebrities that we see on tv and in movies and now she works for a major tv station doing makeup for the morning news show anchors. i knew that to be in that business, she had to be perfect because they wouldnt accept anything less. so I went for a trial and loved everything so i booked

I Makeup You... Jacqueline... My friend used her for her wedding in August and I was in the BP... Everyone looked beautiful! I haven't even done a separate trial with her but you could go crazy with a hundred make up artists and trials and I knew I liked her and trusted her so I went for it!
