My wedding coordinator got a quote from makeup/ hair person. She charges $1500 to do hair for the bride and wedding party no matter how many people. I strongly doubt that she can take on more than 8 people on the day of the wedding.
$1500 includes a trial and any hair pieces for the bride and also, she will stay with me for the day which means I'll have to pay for her to attend the wedding. She will just style the others.
If I want her to provide make-up, that is an additional $1000. Again, that will be for myself and the wedding party, and includes all day touch-ups.
That's a total of $2500 (plus I gotta tip this chick!!).
Now is it me, or do these prices sound completely outrageous?

That is because shes staying with you the whole day. If you don't do that then it's alot less...Every make up artist even those that charge $150-200 for make up or more will charge ALOT more if you want them to stay for the whole day, alot of them will charge by the hour or do a package like you posted
See Maureen pedala is $350 for make up, but if you get the all inclusive package its $1250 and that is make up for you and up to 10 girls, and she stays with you for 8 hours to touch up your make up if needed

if you are having 10 girls who do want their make up then it comes out good. IF you have just a few girls willing to pay for make up then it comes out to more for each. But its good if you have alot getting it done. ALSO thats the price just for make up, not hair. If you get just hair and she doesn't stay all day its $350 but if you also want claudia pedala to stay for 8 hours for hair and do up to 10 girls its another $1250

The thing is when I calculate it, it doesn't seem cost effective. I have 4 girls in the WP plus myself makes 5. My wedding coordinator is getting hers done also, so thats 6. That comes out to $250 pp. Keep in mind she is just styling the girls.. no major work (hair pieces, perm, color, cut, etc).
Make-up comes out to $167 pp.

well honestly no girls really get color, perm, or cut the day of. So all hair prices for any vendor is for styling only.
See i considered this bc I have 10 so for me it comes out less, but for 5 ppl it does come out to alot. What if you get her just to come and do everyones hair and make up but not stay the entire day.
If you're not happy with the quote then theres no reason to book this person just keep looking
