Makeup prices

Makeup prices

I've been checking out what different makeup artists charge and I find it ridiculous that most charge more for 'bridal makeup application' than for a regular makeup application. What exactly is the difference? Seems like just another way to charge brides more just b/c they can. Anyone else agree or am I missing something?

I totally agree.....you put the word wedding in front of anything and the price goes up atleast 30% or more.

I totally agree too. Maybe they figure they're doing an extra great job on you? I dont know.... no real reason.

Wedding means lets charge extra money for no reason

I went to the Mac Counter at Macy to inquire if one of the Representative if they would be interested in doing my and bp makeup. She said np she would just request the day. Now for the bride it would be $150 and just $50 for the bp. If I go the MaC counter on my wedding day it would only cost me $50 for them to apply the makeup??? I do not understand considering she making more with me for about 3 hours then she would make the whole day at work.

Well, if you go to the MAC counter on your wedding day, no appt and just buy the $50 worth of makeup and you hate the way your makeup comes out, they don't redo it for you.

Still so frustrating though! Are you really getting three times as much makeup as your bridesmaids??? I wear minimal makeup but do wear some and I really hate to wear a lot of eye shadow so I don't want anything crazy and yet I know it will cost like $150.

I totally agree. I don't wear any makeup on a daily basis so I'm not going to be wearing a lot on my wedding day, certainly not $150 worth. I could tell the makeup artist I am a MOH and get the same makeup I would get if I told them I was the bride for 1/3 of the price. It's ridiculous.
