One of my bridesmaids will be doing my makeup for the wedding. She is going to school for it, and really wants to do this for me. We did a trial the other day, but she made me look like I was going out clubbing! I think she is having trouble picturing wedding day makeup. Could you post pics of your makeup trials or websites where I can see pics of makeup?

That's funny- I went to get makeup this weekend and told the woman what I wanted it for (someone is coming to do my makeup as well but told me to pick up mascara and a foundation b/c those are 2 things you don't want to share w/ other ppl) and she made me look like a hooker!! My FH looked shocked when he saw it and I think he was afraid I was going to WANT to look like that on our wedding day!! Too funny!

this is why i am electing to take care of make-up myself... i just can not justify shelling out $$$ and more $$$ to look like a tramp!

When I got my makeup done once, they said to get my own lipstick & mascara, but not foundation.
It seems like everyone wears the same color lipstick whent hey post there trial picturesa nd it seems the same as what 2 of my friedns wore. Sort of a pinky purple?
Is that standard wedding makeup?
Anway, look through the reviews, a lot of people posted pictures of their wedding , usually a few close ups where you can see the make up.

Tell her to use light, natural colors on the eyes, and a more neutral colored lipstick.

I went through magazines - mostly InStyle - and clipped pictures of women with my hair coloring...with the makeup look I liked. I too don't wear makeup - well, just mascara and lipstick - and didn't want an overdone look. I went to one trial and I looked horrendous - the second trial was fabulous...I booked her on the spot.
So...my suggestion would be to clip pictures and since she's a friend, do numerous trials to get the look you desire. Also remember that most any look is going to look different to you since you don't wear anything...just try to stay natural. Makeup should enhance and accentuate - not scream out at you IMO.

Tell your friend that you want it more natural looking. You want to look like you and be comfortable with the make up you have on.
Maybe you want to try wearing it a little here or there so you feel less made up in general?
