I don't want to do my makeup trials until July (so its the same month as my wedding...I want to see how the makeup holds up in the weather). Is that too late? Do you think alot of the makeup artists will be booked by then? I'm really not ready to do it this soon!

well i don't think they are all going to be booked probably the ones the are popular will but to tell you the truth i doubt it! if you are not ready you are not ready!! there are lots of great artists out there i am sure you'll find a great one for you with no rush

There are so many awesome make up artist out there that are awesome that I dont think people will be booked. If you look at the 2009 board some girls on there are still booking and plenty of people are available.
I've started looking now but I'm in a different position then most, I'm looking for an artist that will come to me and just do my makeup. I know a lot of artist require a minimum of 3 girls.

i think its a smart idea to wait until July. i know many people who book make-up much closer to the wedding date. also if you are going to go to a place to have it done, i don't think its as big a thing as if you were booking someone for the entire day

me personally. i want a make up artist i can use on a regular basis. especially for work when i do high profile events in the summer. (its tax deductible) so im praying i find some1 good and QUICK. as for my hair... thats a whole diff issue
i am sure u have a few mua's in mind, call them to check their availability. and at least have a trial with that person soon just so u lock in your spot if they are phenominal.
it also depends how important make up is to u. some ppl dont care, some ppl think its the most important vendor.

If you have a popular person in mind, I'd check with them sooner rather than later. I have my date reserved but I am looking at a popular MUA and I'm so nervous that someone will deposit for that date, since I don't plan on doing a trial until September.

I'm getting married in August and waited until last summer to do my hair and make up trials. I wanted to see how everything held up in weather conditions similar to the big day.
One hair stylist I contacted was already booked for my day by the time I called her, but otherwise I didn't have any problems.

i havent booked yet either but the people i have contacted over the past few months have still had my date. i wouldnt worry as long as you dont want a super high profile artist

the really popular people might be booked, but there are lots of other great people out there...u could do it in the end of may or early june so its still hot out
