Makeup question-do I go first or last?

does the bride go last so the photographer can capture you getting your makeup done?

I went first but only myself and my sister got our make-up done. The photographer came at the tail end of my make-up session but my MUA and I 'posed' for some getting ready pics. lol!

I've heard that the bride should go last, I guess so the bride is the 'freshest'.

i wouldnt go last because you may be cutting it close with timing.. go in the middle... you dont want them to rush!

I think for photos, they pretty much re-enact the whole M/U thing. I was told that they will sort of pose some shots of my M/U being applied. They said, you really aren't going to want pics of the 'before' lol So you will look great/already made up... but still shots of it being 'applied'

I actually went in the middle of everyone. My MUA brought her sister to help out so it went like this:

10:30am - Mom and MOH #1
11:30am - me and MOH #2
12:30pm - 2 BMs

photog arrived at 1pm. We did some mock makeup application shots, and then did the getting ready shots.

My makeup stayed great all night long!

THIS! Hair and MU both told me to go in the middle. Going first means you will be sitting around all day worrying you are getting messed up. Going last means you will feel rushed. When the photog gets there, they can always stage getting ready photos.

I think it makes sense to go in the middle or last. Not first.

I went last, and we ended up getting great shots of my MUA applying the finishing touches.


Ask you MUA to create a schedule for you if she doesn't already offer one. All of these MUA have done many many weddings, so they'll be able to time it out right so you don't run late.
