ok, so i'm not an incredibly girly girl, but i'm not a tomboy either. i just like to look nice. that being said, i REALLY want to get airbrush makeup done, but i can't justify the money...
can anyone offer any advice or cheap (but good) makeup artists? i kinda want to be talked into it, and i kinda want to be talked out of it. pros/cons?

I think makeup is really important because I think pictures are really important. I would much rather cut back in other areas to spend money on good makeup. However, I still can't justify paying $500 for makeup alone no matter how good a job they do. $150 on the other hand (which seems to be going rate) I guess is worth it. Airbrush is usually more than regular but I think that's worth it too.

I dont know anything about airbrush or not but I wasnt sure about professional makeup and had a trial and was sooooo pleased. I say at least splurge for the trial (i can understand your attempts at controlling the expenses because these wedding things are crazy)

im on the fence about getting makeup professionally or having FH's aunt do it. She is amazing (and free). If I go the professional route I'm going to Bruno's Salon in Brooklyn. I had my makeup done there for a friend's wedding and I looked so pretty!

airbrush feels very light, I think it would be a good choice if you do not wear makeup often. You should def go for a trial and see how it looks on your skin! good luck

I am def getting some kind of professional make up done. I usually don't wear too much and I'm not that great at putting stuff on lol. For our one wedding day I think it's ok to splurge on the make up. It's really the only time I'm going to get my make up professionally done anyway!

I say go for it! No matter who you choose! You only have one day in your life where you can justify all the pampering! Look at the larger scale and how much you are paying for everything else. Is the makeup( something that will make you feel great about yourself) gonna really make or break you?

I will talk to you into it... its your Wedding, the one day to spend the extra money....GO FOR IT..also it lasts all day, you don't want to waste time touching up makeup when you could be dancing, driking, eating with your new HUBBY and Friends

i know what your saying...i couldn't justify spending a lot on makeup, when i usually don't wear it and because im going to wear it once and wash it off!!!!! definately try some local salons..they're usually cheaper..jacqueline nicole does great work and is pretty reasonable...and i know you said airbrush..but check out oksana! shes awesome at what she does for a great price! but its traditional makeup only

I am using ID Salon in Woodbury for about 75 bucks. I really like it - she made it look natural but still made up.
JMO - but I want to look more special for my wedding day. I don't usually wear a lot of makeup and they do a lot of little tricks to really make you look better in photos - i.e. a little white pencil on the inner part of your eyelid to make your eyes pop out. I think it will be worth it for this one special day in my life.
