makeup trial :(

I didn't even take pics I hated it so much!

I went to a M/U artist who was really nice, and did a wedding for a friend of mine who looked beautiful, but after telling her what I was going for (natural beauty), I got a face gooped with makeup -- like I never would have left the house looking this way :( why do I feel like they never get the vision???

I totally understand where your coming from and its REALLY frustrating and starts to become a panic because you think you wont find someone that will get it... I went through 2 bad trials (1 horrible and 1 the woman was a doll but DID NOT give me what I asked for) I finally went to an artist who NAILED IT and it was such a relief...

You will find someone dont worry, it just takes a few trials with different people...

Im using M*I*A* shes INCREDIBLE and she does hair... FM me if you want her contact info =)

this happened to me at my first makeup trial. DH picked me up from this LIW vendor's house and we were literally laughing at me -- wrong color airbrush foundation, tons of dark eye makeup, the wrong lip color that didn't even stay within the lines of my lips!

I was considering doing my own makeup after that but decided to try one more person, luckily that person was Sally Duvall who totally got my 'natural' idea. You can look at my wedding pics in my albums, all of those pics are unretouched and my chin was broken out my wedding day and you can't even tell.

that stinks...bad trial r the worst... you will find someone u like, just keep trying!!

Trials should be free...especially if they r bad!! lol

Don't get discouraged. I too had a horrendrous make up trial that I was so damn pissed about. I'm really picky about my make up though. I agree that you should try M*I*A; she's very talented.

I have learned that one's vision of 'natural' is not the same as another's.

Maybe bring pics at next trial. It really HELPS.

It's like a hairdresser that thinks 1 inch off is really 4 inches of length, know what I mean?

Try Jacqueline Nicole. She totally got my vision. I showed her 2 photos and I didn't even have a trial and she hit it right the very first time.

Try Oksana...my MIL and SIL don't wear makeup at all and wanted a natural look on my wedding day and she nailed it!!

I know how you feel... I wasn't crazy about my first trial either, but I tried someone else and love it! Keep trying, and don't stop until it's exactly what you want!

I have this problem whenever I go to a M/U artist for the first time, except for Jan Visone, which is why I will use her. Outisde of ocassional lipstick, I don't wear make-up. So if I all of a sudden wear it on the wedding day, I will feel off and it won't look like Everyday me. She did a great job. Thankfully it was your trial...there are many talented people out there. I hope you find the one you are comfortable with.

I would def bring pics of the make-up and hair that you are specifically looking for and like for your wedding day. This way they know what you want rather than chancing it for their vision of what it should look like, also remember that every person's make up and hair is going to look different keeping in mind of their skin tone, eye and hair color, skin type, and ethnicity. A make-up look can look gorgeous on one person and look horrible on someone else. Try to find another make-up artist & view their work. Book a trial with them and bring several pics with you and let them know exactly what you are looking for!
