Makeup trial - To Do or Not to Do?

Makeup trial - To Do or Not to Do?

I am planning on getting my hair done as a trial but I am debating whether to get my make-up trial done or not. My biggest reason for not doing it is just the matter of principle of paying extra money. Plus I have a picture (from a magazine) of what I want my make up to look like. I also know what colors look good on me and which ones do not. So I have 2 questions:

1. Have any of you NOT had their make up trial and did NOT regret it?

2. Can the make up artist refuse to do my make up on my wedding day if I don't get the trial? ( I haven't asked my artist yet)

Thanks girlies!

i only had one trial and booked her on the spot ... so i probably would've been fine not getting a trial. Then again, she tried on 3 diff looks before we finally got 'the one'

also, sooo many girls on here have had multiple trials with multiple people and they just can't find the right person who can do what they envision.

so i'd suggest you get a trial .... your makeup will be seen in ALL pictures - you don't want that to be bad!

Honestly, $30 is not too much money to spend for peace of mind. I'd worry that they won't be able to implement your ideas on the wedding day and then you'll be stuck.

I having someone in Macy's do my makeup and then i'm gonna buy the makeup and have my sister do it on my wedding day. i honestly don't see spending a fortune. if someone does a trial for me, i can pretty much do it myself

I think a trial is worth the cost. I was ready to book a makeup vendor on the spot (w/o a trial) but she suggested a trial. I am so glad I did the trial because I eliminated her from doing my makeup - she over-did my eyes so much that I looked like a Vegas stripper - then she puts so much blush on my cheeks that I looked like a clown.

So yes, def worth it..if the budget can allow it - I'd recommend a trial first. Those are some things you dont want to be stressing over on your wedding day!

the girl i went to didnt charge for a trial. (not sure if it was becuase i bought a ton of make up or not)
but afterwards, when i was paying for the make up, i asked her how much the trial would be, she said was like, what? theres no charge? i wouldnt charge, what if you didnt like how it came out??

if you want her info, FM me.

I think the trial is worth the cost so she will know what works for you, what doesn't. That way on the wedding day, she'll know exactly what to do.
