makili terrace in brooklyn

Has anyone been to a wedding there lately?

My brother got married there years upon years ago and I really dont remember much about it.

It is in Brooklyn on 86th Street and 15th Ave.
The surrondings aren't that great (the area is good but it is cramed between a gas station and a supermarket).
I just got an amazing quote from them and even if they add $15pp to it it is still great. But it is too amazing and I want to know what is wrong with the place that they can afford to give such rates.

Thanks girls

my secretray had her wedding there and she loved it. she said it was roomy and the food was good. my parents attended the wedding and tey said it was 'OK' but the food was not as good as it was made out to be.
the Bride was very happy with the end result tough.

I live close by the Micali Terrace and have been there for school functions and the reputation that it had was that if you wanted a cheap wedding or event that was the place to go. Nothing outstanding about it with 'just okay' food. Now mind you I haven't been there in quite a few years so maybe it has changed, but I wouldn't go there as my first choice. JMO so don't be mad at the review.

I live right around the corner from them and did check them out for my own wedding. It's predominantly known for Albanian events and weddings, so there is something going on there EVERY weekend. Their price was great, but it was not what we were looking for in terms of food quality, quantity, and the decor.

I honestly think you should check out a few other places before making a decision. We got a great price at Fox Hollow, and there are other reception locations in Bklyn with great prices - Bay Ridge Manor being one.

Thank you all for your comments

I was just wondering what some of the rates would be for a hall in brooklyn but we are really more interested in LI or SI because although we are getting married in the winter we still want the hall to have nice gardens. Plus a parking lot is a BIG plus. Also we are big Food people so good food is really important to us.

This is what I was giving for rates if anyone is interested:
Friday - $35 per person, plus tax and gratuities
Saturday - $45 per person, plus tax and gratuities
Sunday - $40 per person, plus tax and gratuities

Is this not insane or what?
This is why I figured it was too good to be true.

Again thatnks for your comments!!!
